Here we go again. :ninja:

If Nintendo included a salty Portuguese Mario I wouldn't be offended by it but rather find it hilarious and honoured Nintendo would go as far. The Mexican Mario is the same thing but then you had people who weren't even Mexican be offended.

That is the general idea, but apparently a employee of nintendo was offended which cause the actual appeal to change as said in the video if i remember. Still this is Social Justice Warriors at is all time low for me. :ninja:

Theres zero factual evidence that supports this argument, yet all of you still cling on to these stupid conspiracy theories

Then why would they specifically target Mexican Mario than the goombas? It's not like the cover isn't with plenty of Marios but do they differ all that much? Did.

You are quoting a person who thinks disney is a conspiracy theory. :P

I could care less about why nintendo did what they did, or why people bother to confront them about it, but is interesting to know what some people will do in various situations for public outcry.

Also I wasn't clinging to a conspiracy theory, I was restating what the person said in the video. That was my reason for the statement I made.

Correlation ddoes not imply causationdude, you really need to know how to let something small as this go. There could be a million different reasons why they changed it and its idiotic for you to jump to conlusions on why they changed it

This is another thing that reminded me, Nintendo may possibly in some way censor the Mexican Mario stage from what it originally was intended. :(
I was about to say, if the only change is the cover, then I am not losing any sleep. if they actually remove it completely, then that wouldn't be good. Coming to think of it they probably changed the cover since most sjws only read the cover rather than the content.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

The original cover was better.
But well, I suppose you have to do this kind of thing to avoid annoying the average SJW that likes to start wars in the name of no one, for no "justice" at all and for no other purpose than feeding their ego and trying to forget their shallow and meaningless existence.
I bet 99.9% of all Mexicans would think taking Mexican Mario out of the cover is stupid and would like to hang every other selfish S"J"W for their stupidity, but in the end you have to avoid controversy and sell, so you need to avoid annoying these (mostly American) SJW that fight for what they decide is better for... Mexicans? I don't know, they sure feel entitled.
I actually know some Mexicans who loved the Mario hat idea, because they felt it gave their culture representation

Isn't it a bit racist that people don't want a mexican mario in the game? As if mexicans are so bad, that mexicans don't deserve to be represented.

Theres nothing to discuss here guys, mexican mario is good, hes still in the game, nobody knows why they changed the cover and its pointless to pinpoint why out of the million reasons there could be. End of discussion.

Some people get offended about everything that they thought this hat is supposedly stereotypical and racist towards Mexicans. even though most Mexicans actually like the hat and wear it in special occasions. but the thing is I could argue about it in another way and say that this actually portrays Mexican culture in good light. not to mention that there is a whole level dedicated to it so it makes sense. Mario odyssey is a game about exploring the world and real life locations, of course they would reference mexico among a lot of places like new York.

I'm beginning to wonder if the SJW's anti-appropriation crusade is actually because crusaders want to pick and choose the parts of other cultures they will accept in their daily lives?

I.E: Textbook racism.

You guys know the Mexican mouse? (maybe in looney toons) was tooken Well at one point the mouse was tooken down because it was seen as racist, but one group was really sad about the mouse being removed, the thing that's most funny is that it was the Mexicans that were sad about it.

Speedy Gonzales did have his bad/naughty traits, but he was a fun character.

This has nothing to do with censorship or racism or whatever. If you compare the original boxart with the current one, you'd see that the Mexican Mario picture was the only one that wasn't touched up like the rest on the cover (he's blurry as hell from DoF, that does NOT look good on a cover). The newest image with the underwater kingdom is clearly touched up to look nice, as if THEY WERE ALREADY PLANNING ON IT BEING THERE. The previous image was added there to quickly hide it until they wanted to start talking more about the underwater kingdom.
Nintendo hiding stuff from a boxart isn't new. Here's an image of Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze without Cranky on it. After Cranky was revealed, boxarts were updated with the newer version (technically Amazon Italy accidentally leaked the new boxart before it was official).
Nintendo hiding stuff in Super Mario Odyssey isn't new either. Mario's hat didn't show its eyes at any point in the reveal trailer until the end, even when he threw his hat.
This has been way too overblown when it was clear from the start that it had nothing to do with the actual content of the original picture.

Right, we have no idea why.

Can't wait for Censored Gaming weabs to start boycotting the game.

Only gonna pay £11.99 (with an Amazon voucher I received for free) for the game so even with the censorship I'm getting it.

I really hated all those comments from SJWs who were not even Mexican talking about Mexican Mario being racist.

I just wanted to punch them in the face and say "Don't talk by us!" But I'd just break my laptop screen.

Sorry, but it was really stupid to hear non-mexican people talk about us Mexican people being offended. They know nothing!

I literally know none here who got offended. At least a Facebook community with 20,000+ members were all delighted to have Mexican Mario included in the new game. And many of my real life friends wanted to actually get the Switch and play the game just because of that.

It's like as a brit getting offended by Austin Powers bad teeth, or those terrible cockney/snob accents. Or an aussie getting offended by string vests and corks hanging from hats.

We live in an age where people feel it their duty to be offended for someone else on their behalf.

I say fuck them, let's have Wheelchair Mario, let's have Affro-Caribbean Mario, let's have Obese and Transgender and Muslim Mario.
