Misc wiimmfi MKW banned profile without ever having played!?!

So last Friday 9-6-2017, I patched my mario kart wii game and tried to hook up to online play. I received an error saying i had to wait for a week.

I logged on and checked it three or four times throughout the week to ensure the time was going down and convince myself that I was really connected to an active server. Everything looked right.

Now today 17-6-2017, I logged on and got a 23912 (profile banned). So I searched the recent ban page and I'm not on there. Not my user name and not my friend code. I went through the last 30 days, most recent 300 bans.

Since it is just a profile ban and not a console ban, I tried a different profile and everything worked fine.

Can someone please help me understand how my profile got banned?

How can I find out how long the ban is for?

How can I reverse the ban if it was made in error?

Timestamps...
The only timestamp I know for sure was on Friday, 16-6-2017 at 20:00 UTC I checked in and it said I had 5 hours left to wait.
Presumably, this marks the end of the 7 day wait meaning that my very first activity would have been trying to sign in after initial patch one week prior.
So.. Friday, 9-6-2017 20:00 UTC. EDIT: +5 hr to complete wait time making it 10-6-2017 01:00 UTC
There was at least one check, more likely two in between these two but I have no way of figuring out a timestamp for them.
Lastly, there was my discovery of the profile ban. That happened, Sunday 18-6-2017 somewhere between 00:00 and 01:00 UTC ??

Other than that, I have had no actual activity on that profile because I have never connected without error.

This profile ran at 14 different consoles from 2014-07-11 to 2017-02-20. Have you ever published/uploaded your savegame?

However, use a new profile.

No. I've never even moved my savegame to SD. The only place it has ever resided is on my physical wii.
(I think)??

I'm pretty ignorant as to how the savegame stuff works. If I erase my profile, and then start a new one in the same slot and with the same name, will that still make it generate a new friend code? I'm assuming that the friend code is what is actually blocked right?

Or do I need to use a different name? Or save it to a different slot?

For those who don't already know... You can save under the same slot and under the same name and it will generate a new friend code. But you will have to beat all the time trial stuff to earn your characters and vehicles again.

Does anyone know if I can earn my missing characters and vehicles through online matches (like we could back when WFC was still up and running)??

The profile is banned for good reasons. So it can not be used at Wiimmfi.

Calm down captain... obviously I already deleted the profile and began another. That's why I asked if I had to time trial my way through new characters. Not a big deal dude.

Thanks for any time you spent determining that the profile was somehow wasted.

How can i use wiimffi if i never used nwc cause i try to assign a console and it wont work, it tells me to use a "freind code".. please help.

Hey @ItsOmega, I would expect that this would be a topic for a new question. Doesn't really fit into the original post about having a banned profile.

I don't know too much so I won't be much help. You will get more attention to the question if you start a new thread. @Wiimm seems to be a leading contributor so if you can get his/her attention, s/he will probably be able to direct you best.

Have you used the patcher found at DL to patch you MKW game? You can find info on that at https://wiiki.wii-homebrew.com/Wiimmfi_(en)/Patcher

Once you patch it, you should just need to direct your loader to use the private wiimmfi server, start a profile and connect to the online play. Connecting online will generate a friend code for you. Then you exchange that friend code with someone else you want to play online. You each register the other party's code and create a link to each other for online playability.

I don't know anything about assigning a console. And I don't know the acronym nwc. If you are talking about a game other than Mario Kart Wii, then you are really in the wrong thread here. Good luck.

If you're using the patcher you don't need a loader that patches as well.

Also, do not use a save you found on the internet.

Unlocking characters is done through the game, not the network, so yes, you can. But, you can just use a cheat code to unlock all characters/vehicles, but be sure not to use them online!

It’s simply an old profile and those are not supported if you really want to use your old profile search for a cheat code on google
