Restoring original colors to GBA VC

This is a followup on my footers thread, I have succeeded in getting back the original colors instead of the washed out/dark/mute colors every GBA VC has.

It's actually quite simple; every string of numbers that go like this: 00 00 00 00 00 00 in blocks of six are now changed to blocks of three until you reach FF FF FF.

I have already gone through the trouble of writing all the values out in a separate file ORIGINAL.bin
Simply go through the process of making a footer, open it in a hex editor and open original.bin as well, select everything in it and copy it to the footer starting at offset 0x24.

Should look like this:

Ideally the GBA footer generator should get updated with this option to avoid hex editing and name the other settings something more accurate than "Memory Config".

Bonus: Remove or add more ghosting/blur
Edit byte at offset 0x20

0xFF/255 = No blurring/ghosting
0xF0/240 = Very little ghosting
0xC0/192 = Official value, standard ghosting
0x80/128 = Official value, more ghosting, highly noticeable
0x20/32 = Insane ghosting
0x01 = MAX

What is this thing that 3DSes don't ship with IPS anymore? They're almost standard now; in fact, before this year bottom screen IPS didn't even exist. Every >March 2016 n3DS I've handled have had at least a top IPS.
Also, I've yet to see a report of a Pokémon n3DS units coming without dual IPS...

It still seems completely random to me. I've had four come my way for modding in the last month. According to CTRAging, they were all produced sometime between October and November last year. Two were IPS Top + TN Bottom, one was TN Top + IPS Bottom, and the last was dual TN. 3 black and one red n3DSXL.

Not sure if it has been discussed or not, but is there a way to patch other VC titles that suffer from this? I'd love to fix my NES titles.

Curious, how do you read this info off of CTRAging?

Here's a modified footer generator, so you don't have to hex edit anything:

Outputs footers with the proper color settings and has settings for ghosting (a quick hack)

And here's a pack to fix your old CIAs. Drag and drop them on top of the bat file and new ones will be created in the FIXED_CIAs sub folder.

I still have some gba games in cia form,i just want to restore the colors, which option should i choose?
also,is it dangerous with some gba games and can cause damage to the screen just by restore the colors or that is different opinion?

also, why any one want to add ghost or blue effect to the GBA game?

Use the bat file to fix your old CIAs (the pack in the link at the end of that post).

Now I don't know the purpose of that blur but I just left it there for demonstration purposes.

Mostly Yoshis Island, it makes it semi unplayable but how bad the ghosting is seems to depend on your screen hardware

I can't fix the majority of my CIAs with the DRAG_AGB_CIA.bat. I am using the European Ambassador games, and only WarioWare and Yoshi's Island are outputted. For the rest, I notice that two "The system can not find the path specified." and two "The system can not find the file specified." messages are printed to the console. All of the CIAs are decrypted correctly.

If you don't want redo the whole cia creation, just paste the footer hex code at the end of you code.bin file (with deleting the old hex code)

so much colors,it's like the brightness on max,and that made me worry,is it just brightness problem? how hex editing can do that?

also, will that drain more power from the battery?

I didn't get any reply, but is there a method to make this work for other VC titles? the dark filter is present on a lot of them as well. Paper Mario looks awful for example.

Is there are way to restore the colors and remove ghosting of regular gba ROMs?
I want to play them in an emulator like mgba or gbsp on my 3DS, since i don't like the blurry filter of 3DS VC games, when playing in fullscreen mode (and original resolution is too small imo).

How does one use this? I need to use this on my gba VC games. Any tutorial?
