Hi :)

After downgrading my n3DS to 9.2, I set up an emuNAND (my CFW is ReiNand).
Everything works fine, I can do everything I should be able to do on a CFW.

But, I'd like to update my emuNAND (to 10.3, I think ReiNand "only" supports up to 10.3). I don't know if I have to unlink them to do so or if just I can update it from emuNAND without any risk for my sysNAND (regular update from console's settings? Update with sysUpdater?)

Also, if I have to unlink them, the only solution I've found is the easiest one : format sysNAND.
The problem is, this is my first console (in fact, it was originally an o3DS (with ambassador program and all the stuff) and I did a system transfert to my n3DS when I bought it), and I have a lot of games on it and a lot of saves on it, and I DON'T want to lose them. So formating my sysNAND isn't for me.

So my questions are :
- Can I update safely my linked emuNAND without any risk for my sysNAND ?
- If I have to unlink them, can I do this without formatting my sysNAND (formatting emuNAND instead ?) ?

And if possible I'd like to know what are the benefits of (un)linked NANDs. I heard a lot of things but never the same things :/

Thank you very much for your help, and sorry for my English, it's not my first language ^^"

ReiNand supports up to the latest FW (10.5). Updates are installed to internal flash memory, so you should be fine when linked. However, I recommend you unlink by formatting on SysNAND. You should do so by either removing the SD card prior to formatting in System Settings, or use TinyFormat. In either of these cases, you won't lose any data on the SD card, and your EmuNAND partition should contain everything that was on SysNAND when you set it up. EmuNAND will remain linked to your SD content as well. As always, make backups!

Note that if you format through System Settings, your NNID will be detached from your console and unusable on EmuNAND. You then have to jump through some hoops to attach it again. That's why people recommend TinyFormat.

Well, so the update was successful, and of course my sysNAND is still on 9.2
But, reiNAND freezes on a black screen when I launch it :(
I updated throught system settings, so my emuNAND should be on 10.5, are you sure that reiNAND supports 10.5 emuNAND ?
