You could trade your o3ds for a n3ds. Just pay a little for the difference :P

Sadly i'm out of money, and OG 3DS are simply not nearly well paid enough to afford it. Also, there's the thing about my digital games, so i'd have to make a transfer on the spot.

I've been really, REALLY wishing for a N3DS for months (now more than never) but it simply is not possible :/

Is anyone else encountering what seem like crashes on the PC Engine core when exiting CD games? The last things on screen are as follows:
Code:
RetroArch [INFO] :: Saving RAM type #0 to "[path/to/title].srm".
RetroArch [INFO] :: Saved successfully to "[path/to/title].srm"
RetroArch [INFO] :: Saving RAM type #1 to "[path/to/title].rtc".
CD-based games seem to reach this point and freeze, whereas HuCard titles just barrel on through it. I never get a "Saved successfully" for the .rtc file even on HuCard games, but RetroArch doesn't freeze up in those cases. My save directory doesn't have any .rtc files in it, even for games which don't crash RetroArch at this point.

Some body know where are place the bios files and yours corect names for every cores? Any cores not works (freezer screen) for example fba, cpn1, cp2 and picodrive.

At least with the FBA arcade ports (Neo), you just put the BIOS file (neogeo.zip for example) inside the directory you're loading the roms from.
I can't speak however for exact names on other emulators. Search through the Core Configs for PCE maybe...? Or otherwise, it should just have syscard3.pce in the roms directory.

I'd also like to comment that if you're using the FBA cores, it seems surprisingly lenient on Retroarch, since all my rom files from my PSP NGEMU emulators work first-go on the N3DS. It's impressive too, really! I think my PSP 3k has met it's match. And it's still early, too.

I tried this, i put neogeo.zip in /retroarch/cores/systems/ (i think that it is the directory) but freezing, i put neogeo.zip in /roms and freezing too. But thank.

Note: i has a n3ds, firm 9.2, cubic ninja (2.1) and nightly retroarch date from 09/22/2015.

Pce works fine, i has systemcdrom.pce rename a syscard3.pce in core/system and works great and full speed.

10.1 N3DS here. My file directory is: sdcard:/neo. I don't bother putting them in the main Core directories personally, but this is sort of the first time I've used Retroarch.

That's good! (I suppose)

gamestop keeps reviving their deal of a $100 trade in credit for any o3ds towards a n3ds. unfortunately it's always at the most inconvenient financial moments for me, when i would be least likely to upgrade my system. hopefully they do it again soon!

Just tried it, it was just me being an impatient little bitch. Sorry for the bother.
I did notice however, that the emulator slows down to 50~ish FPS after saving/loading a state. Does this happen to you too?

Yup, slowdown happens to me as well, but going into the Retroarch menu and then going back in-game fixes that.

(Oh, and it wasn't a bother at all! Just glad I was able to help out! :) )

@Gettwobirdsstone : The cores that run fullspeed (with some caveats) on o3DS are:
-Genesis Plus GX - Master System, Game Gear and SG-1000 games only
-QuickNES - Not as compatible as FCEUMM or Nestopia, and has a weird bug where it freezes up after loading four games in one session; the workaround for this is to quit the core after the third game and restart
-Gambatte - mostly fullspeed in that certain Game Boy Color games won't run fullspeed; other than that, it runs wonderfully on o3DS :)
- NXEngine (Cave Story) - slows down when the map is activated, but otherwise fullspeed

Regarding BIOS files, generally speaking they should go into whatever is defined as the system dir but there are some exceptions.
For instance FBA and MAME, those treat BIOS just as additional roms, so in those cases those need to be in the rom dir.

- PCE: system dir
- PCSX: sytem dir
- nestopia: system dir
- bsnes special chips: system dir
- GPGX: system dir
- gpsp: system dir
- fba: rom dir
- mame: rom dir and it's really odd at times, sometimes it need a subfolder like a5200 for the bios for atari 5200
- prboom: rom dir.. I think

We try to make the cores "behave", as in use the correct directories, etc. but in some cases it's just not feasible.

You can just call Nintendo and they'll just transfer your purchases to your new system. I did it and they even transfered my ambassador games. :)

So ps1 and n64 is possible... But it ain't gonna happen obviously :)
check the newest build, .cia only.
ah and use a bios file if you have one, you can run it without a bios but compatibility will be a lot lower.
it can freeze for 30 sec or so sometimes, that is normal, that is the dynarec precompiling.
