Hacking Store MicroSD cards in GBA SLOT?

I'm thinking about fashioning something to fit inside of the item that comes on the DS lite and plugs the GBA slot. There's space inside of there, so I'm thinking something like a piece of foam could be put in there so I could slide in spare MicroSD cards.

Thoughts?

what would REALLY be cool is a dummy cartridge like the slot cover that comes with the dslite that has spring loaded transflash slots (3-4 of them) along the outer edge of the cover so you could just click in a card and click again to spring it out - similar to how loading and unloading a card from the R4 works...

Great idea!

But rather than fashioning some fancy piece of specialist hardware I would just wrap the microSD in thin foam and store it in the cover that comes with the DS Lite. Afterall, those things are tiny!! You should be able to fit a few in there

That is cool. I just gutted one of my xgflash carts. I could probably fit 10 of them in there. but they rattle , so like you others said, some foam is needed. No need to screw it back togethor, cause the gba slot keeps it nice and secure.

EDIT: Actually, it might be a good place to stash some bud on the go. Now how can I turn it into a pipe?

That would be pretty cool, especially the multiple spring loaded cart idea. Though, if you are using a slot -2 cart, it would be useless...

I think it would be really cool to see a commercially-produced (and commercial-quality) microSD holder for slot-2 in all the colors of the DS Lite rainbow (black/white/pink/navy/ice-blue). They could keep the part that's exposed when the holder is inserted in the DS Lite's slot-2 as a clean line, and have the plastic on either face of the cover have indented spots for microSD cards to fit into and lock into place -- you could easily fit five microSD cards on either side. Ten gigabytes of storage in slot-2, anyone?

That freaky shit would get me hard in the pants.

It could work, and using the current wasted space for storage of something is a good idea. I think the only question is who in their right mind needs more than one microSD? Or rather: what else would fit in there?

It's a very nice idea but it wouldn't work for me since I already have a slot 2 card and I only have 1 micro sd cards anyway

Everyone!! 1gb card of favourite, never to be deleted games. 1gb card of games currently playing but will delete and put new stuff on when bored of/finish. and a final 1gb card to test new/unplayed games on.

Me.
People rarely scoff at a 20 gig Ipod, yet all they put on is music.
10 gigs of music, movies, comix, emulators and roms, home-brew apps and games on the go would be pretty damn handy.
