Divide both sides by (a - b)
you can't do this, because if a and b are both 1, then a-b = 0. you can't divide byzero.
Divide both sides by (a - b)
How about this one:
Three men are about to pay for their drinks at a bar. They pay $10 each. However, the bartender is nice (or just stupid) and he tells them that they don't have to pay that much. The bartender takes $5, and gives the men $3 dollars back, $1 each. Now they’ve paid $9*3 plus the $2 that the bartender still has: $9*3+$2= $29 ($27+$2). Where did the last dollar go?
And now for mine; this one drove me nuts! of course once you have it figured out, it becomes retardedly simple. any takers?
the trick is that the two trinangle pieces don't have the same slope. on the top one, the long edge of the overall triangle sorta bends in while on the bottom one it bends out. that bend creates enough surface area to make up for one square. And now for mine; this one drove me nuts! of course once you have it figured out, it becomes retardedly simple. any takers?
Maybe i'm not seeing the trick, but it seems pretty easy by just moving them around? :/
The bartender was also serving two other men that were paying for their own drinks for a total of $30 dollars, $15 each. Again he realizes he overcharged and takes five $1 bills and returns one dollar to each, keeping $3 for himself. Now these two men have paid $14*2 plus the $3 that the bartender still has. $14*2+$3=$31. That's where the missing dollar went.
Unfortunately we can not easily do my favourite one on the internet (faux telepathy with cards) but here is another.
There is a pattern here, what is the next line:
1
11
21
1211
111221
312211
13112221
1113213211
I actually wrote a report on that in highschool physics.. its a optical illusion. The brain assumes that the piece make up a triangle, which they obviously don't.

The red triangle and the dark green triangle have different angels in the lower left corner. Try drawing a straight line from the bottom left of the complete triangle to the top rigth. It won't match the hypo.
I was amazed noone had noticed this before!I think it's a trick question, since "sheeps" isn't the proper term.
The answer to the sheeps question is 9 whether it is grammatically correct or not.
The trick is the question asks you to count sheep/sheeps not how many are alive or dead.
A dead sheep is still a sheep.
A dead sheeps is still a sheeps.Â
Even though the person made a mistake in asking the question
btw
If you take two apples away from five apples how many do you have?
