The gba version? Huh? FF3 was only released on the famicom prior to the DS. Also, the job class applies to the entire party and there are times where you'll need to change your classes as deemed necessary for boss battles and such.

Nah, you don't need to change at all.

(Like the Hine boss fight, I didn't want to change anyone into a scholar so I didn't.)

Also, WTF are you talking about? You and your friend can pretend to be thief and red mage without the help of this game. The thief and red mage jobs are in the game however.

You can also pretend there was a GBAversion.

Haha ok I get the point, I'm wayyyyyyyyy off.

As for gba, I was referring to Dawn of Souls.

Again, I'm far off. Someone may now procede to slap me.

I survived his attack that hits everyone. Even my WHM, just doing Curaga on everyone the whole battle. Didn't even raise anyone. Then again maybe I'm a freak for trying to max out everyone's jobs towards the end of the game.

Just saying it's not necessary lol. I know some people are going through (or have gone through) the game just using Freelancers. lol

Nope, you misinterpreted what Sherv wrote. Each character can change to a different job (easier now too considering there aren't CPs now).

Also you need to just put "ultrablade" in your signature so you don't have to write it everytime you post or just realize that your name/nick is beside each of your posts. Unless of course, you are doing that on purpose to be redundantly redundant.

I don't know about the DS version, but on the famicom version there are times where you have to be a class of all magic users because you need to be in mini form. You also only have a few classes available at the beginning of the game, regardless of how many job class points you have.

Best way to play seems to be flexible in what your characters are.

One person (white mage or whatever) can cast Mini on the whole party in the DS version.

EDIT: Not only in the DS version either. Also the Famicom version can do it. :/

EDIT: Also you can just use the item upgrade cheat to mallet your party into Tozas in the Famicom version. What I'm trying to point out that class changing is good and what people should really do but not necessary as you guys are trying to say.

Yeah, but you have to stay in mini form. In mini your weapons are useless, so you'd better be a magic class.

Not useless at all since weapons don't get changed in Mini form but physical attacks are weaker. Again,

that's not really what I'm trying to point out. I'm saying it's not like you people say that YOU HAVE TO change.

You guys said "You have to be..." "you'll need to change...". I'm just saying (or arguing rather) that while it is optimal for people to change their jobs it is not a must like it would get you stuck in the game if you decide not to*.

*with the exception on parts where someone has to cast mini. But since you're referring to the Famicom version, you don't have to at all.

And for argument's sake:
While in Mini form; Defense, Defense multiplier, M.Def, M.Def multiplyer and Base Attack for physical damage becomes zero while the attacker gets Base Damage x 2. So basically you are in a state where you are like running. You can just run away except for Big Rat.

Tozas is a town so there aren't any mobs there. The only place where there are mobs is that tunnel you pass through and at the shrine with the Big Rat. Those areas are no problems since the random encounters are small and the Big Rat is one of the easier bosses. Also, there are items which can be used to cast spells if you're arguing that everyone has to be a mage.
