The first not modified is the PAL patch. The successful patch after is the USA patch. The not modified after is the Japan patch. There's something else wrong. If you're using emuNand try turning it off.

But I'm not and I'm having a problem. I'm just trying to get my vanilla wbfs file to be a Newer wbfs file. It says it worked and I used auto detect for my version so it should be working, but it keeps hanging at the remote screen.

Ok, I went through again with all new clean files, now cannon and summer sun are playable. I'm not sure which file was not being overwritten from the old patch v1.00.

Ok, I must have had some old files not being overwritten from using 1.00.
I started by deleting old files and using fresh new files.
I also disabled save emulation in the loader.
Cannon and SummerSun, as well as the others are working now.

I am using SMNE01, USAv1, a clean rip iso with these checksums:
MD5: 05022377C66DCC13DD8308B333C202DB
SHA-1: AA7B134A7606435DDCD735F2964EBDECDE38C2EF
CRC32: 1CC03C30

I'm unsure what the typos regarding Another will cause, or the other changes mentioned earlier like the change in CS.xml will be for.

Code:
...
1:  +Patched: [D5] addr 803482c0+8b8, offset 3443c0: 63 65 20 74 68 65 ... -> 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ...
2: * Save patched DOL to: nsmb.d/sys/main.dol
3: * DOL not modified: nsmb.d/sys/main.dol
This means:
1: nsmb.d/sys/main.dol was patched
2: and saved
3: A second try to patch the same file will not change the content. So it is "not modified"

None of this explains why I'm having such a huge issue here, I also don't see how using WBFS manager to move the file over will solve the issue, unless the best way about this is to deal only with ISOs until the very end where I make it a WBFS using WBFS manager.

http://redump.org/disc/11043/ <- your hash is good checked there

use new build http://filetrip.net/wii-downloads/tools-utilities/download-nsmbw-mod-iso-builder-101-f32089.html on fresh iso and pick usa v1 instead of auto and then transfer iso to wbfs
... worked for me without wbfs manager

maybe you need to format you usb before putting the wbfs on it , good luck

How do I run the check? I am 100000% clueless as to what this does.

Edit: Making my WBFS file an ISO and changing it to a WBFS one via the patcher doesn't work do anything differently.

you need to restart fresh

delete everything you have now and then get a clean copy of the iso file and redownload the patcher program as well as any of the mods like summer sun, newer ext...

sounds right ,

and use HashCalc to make sure your iso is proper , you cant keep changing the format from iso to wbfs and have it maintain its properties

I just gotta say that this works beautifully, thank you! So happy to be able to play Newer SMBW off of my USB instead of having to use my dying disc drive with riivolution.

Not work for me..... partially.

I have an NSMB iso (EUR v1) that run ok in Dolphin. I make all the process to create and newer/cannon/summersun and the results are:

1.- If i make a wbfs file -> work correctly in Dolphin.
2.- If i make a iso file -> dont work in Dolphin (blank screen and error in the log file)

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

From the readme.txt:

Known Issue:
.iso output seems to be bugged, the resulting .iso is good for use by backup
manager to transfer to USB HDD, but trying to load it directly (via burned disc,
or emulator, etc.) seems to fail, unsure why.
.wbfs output file seems to work perfectly though.

Excellent tool - very very helpful.

Is there a change a tool like this could be made for Project M2.5b?

Is this a FAT 4GB issue?
