I would like to safely restore everything to factory settings on this european Wii running 4.3e with the darkwii theme.

There are a lot of useless channels on this Wii.

I don't have a band backup as this Wii has not been touched for a while.

make sure your off line..( not connected to the internet at all !!). then go to last page in settings. an do a factory format..( can't stress how important it is to make sure the wii is not connected to internet if it is when you try this. you could end up with a paper weight.).

Formatting will not remove a theme nor restore the wii to factory defaults. All it will do is remove all your saved games, installed channels and registered friends.

Lol it does sound like sniffysniper was drunk when posting the OP. Assuming they do want to format, is there any way to restore the old WiiID afterwards? The 'pink fish' Wii Backup Disc can change the WiiID to a new one, but how do you restore an old one?

I don't recomend formatting as it will not fix your installed IOS or possible corruption in your system menu, only format when you have a problem with your WiiConnect24 (corrupted serial number) it's uncommon problem for people chaging the serial number by using SNEEK.

@JDawg147 both.

I can't suggest anything for removing the channels except going through the channel data on your Wii and deleting the channel's data and as for reverting to the oringinal theme use NUS Downloader and enable "Pack WAD" then download the system version you want then run the wad on your Wii using WAD Manager but I suggest having BootMii as your Boot2 and backing-up your Wii's NAND before doing any of this.

To remove ANY theme on ANY wii without reinstalling the entire system menu (and therefore also overwriting\uninstalling priiloader) one can just load mymenuify mod and restore the .app file for your system menu version\region (e.g. IIRC, 00000087.app is for 4.2U, etc.). You can download the .app files and mymenuify mod from modmii's download page 3 (alternatively you can download the .app file(s) from nusd.exe, sharpii, nusfilegrabber, etc. and mymenuify mod from its google code page).

The easiest\safest way to remove most channels is to just use erase it from the Wii Settings --> Data Management menu.
