I think you should avoid raising much fuss about this.
I have no idea under which jurisdiction google code operates (something at the back of my mind mumbles ireland),
but I think at least here in germany modmii is illegal to distribute, possess or use (Ianal).
Might be the same in other countries with ties to the US.

Any i was planning on asking if they please could find time to look at what is causing the faillure because of a lot of ppl are depending on it, or something like that..

All the more reason to ask them about it; besides, I had a discussion with the folks at google code about a year ago which should have cleared up any potential issues way back then.

What's worse is that my email addy is the only one with access to the modmii google code page, but they've blocked my email addy and left the google code page open. So they've essentially frozen the modmii google code page. Basically, I can't even take down that page even if I wanted to, so assuming it is breaking some rules, I can't even cease and desist.

Anyways, at this point I don't even want to use google code anymore. But I'd like to be able to close all my existing pages and it would be nice to be able to be signed into gmail and view other innocent google code pages (i.e. sneek, custom-di, etc.), currently I have to log-out of gmail to do anything google code related, even for projects I'm not even involved in. In the end, I think blacklisting my email addy is taking it one step too far, they should have just closed my projects instead of indirectly "freezing" them (I got a feeling they don't even realize that's essentially what they've done). They should have contacted me as well, I'm very disappointed in them and that's why even if they do a 180 I'm going to stop using google code anyway.

But I agree with you, I certainly don't want to create a big fuss over this. However, if I'm not given control of the modmii google code page again, I want it taken down. I don't want to be held responsible for a page on an ongoing basis when I no longer have ANY control over it. At a minimum, google code should respond to me, and depending on what they say, I may request they close down the modmii google code page all together, and I can't see how they can ethically deny me the right to have that page taken down.

because they've closed my nusad page but not the modmii page, and the only difference between the 2 pages is that I had other apps (along with their source) hosted on the nusad google code page (apps like theme mii or wiimod), it leads me to believe it was hosting these files that is their problem. But this is something that was raised in my conversation with the folks at google code last year (link to convo above), and if it was a problem they should've asked me to fix it back then during the first time they closed my google code pages.

So I successfully modded my wii with modmii updated from 3.2u to 4.1 but there are a few things I still bee help with
1. My shop channel won't download any updates, I keep getting an error(Netflix)
2. I can no longer play GameCube backup disks I installed waninkokos mios but still nothing
3. I would like to get GameCube games to work from the hdd.

Thanks for this topic, and any help would be appreciated.

if you used ModMii to install the shop channel v20 and IOS56 then your shop channel should be functional. If you are getting errors even after updating, it's possibly due to issues with ninty servers.

GC backup disc loading, just install the recommended cMIOS from ModMii's download page 4 (wiipower+wiigator's cMIOS).

for GC backup loading from usb, u can look into Dios Mios or devolution (neither of which are supported by ModMii). For Dios Mios, u need to install a WAD, which overwrites your MIOS or cMIOS, basically meaning u can't have Dios Mios and GC backup disc support installed at the same time.

XFlak, may I ask why they are not supported? I mean, that would make ModMii even better as a "does-everything" tool. Maybe you don't want to support them, or the authors of these apps don't want ModMii to support them? I might have missed something mentioned before...

ok i installed homebrew channel and backed up bootmii and then i go back to homebrew channel to install a patched IOS236 and im unable to do this..it shows i have internet connection but it just stays put on the homebrew channel...how do i go about laucnhing this??

btw after i backed up bootmii i did not see it anywhere when i powered the Wii on like i was supposed to..what am i doing wrong??

ModMii supports DML, mainly because it used to be difficult to build DML (and cuz at the time one of the dev's asked for ModMii's support), but now both DML and DM have pre-compiled WADs available on their google code pages, making it extremely easy to install. Devolution is even easier to run as it doesn't require anything unique installed to the Wii, just the app copied to the SD card or USB. As such, I don't think adding them to ModMii will make the process much easier than it already is and quite frankly I'm not motivated to do so. Besides, given the hidden msg's in devolution's loader.bin I don't think its author wants ModMii to support it in the first place. Not to mention that GC backup loading is very specialized area that not a whole lot of people care to bother with (i.e. it doesn't have mass appeal). I'm still planning on releasing one more ModMii update in the very near future, maybe more if there is ever another ninty update, but for the most part ModMii is almost totally finalized.

You're failing to follow your modmii guide. To run the IOS236 Installer, u should be running the latest version of the HBC and also have IOS36 saved to the root of your SD card, all of which ModMii should take care of for you.

What do u mean backing up bootmii? Do you mean making a nand backup? Read your guide more carefully, your nand backup will be saved on your SD card as nand.bin and keys.bin

imm on step 3 'install a patched IOS326'..i am running latest version of homebrew ..modmii did save everything to my root card so what is my next step then??ive followed all steps up to this one..now im stuck..im running latest version of homebrew so i dunno..

It's supposed to install IOS236 then return to the HBC, if that is what's happening, then just continue on. Otherwise, try using Simple IOS Patcher, which should be listed as "method B" for that same step

After downloading the IOS236 Installer v5 Mod and Priiloader v0.7 from the links provided here and placing the .zips into the temp folder of the mod mii, the program is still not finding them, when it downloads it says "cannot find archive" then it retries to download it and fails, the same error is given for both files. Any help?

Download "ModMiiFix.bat" from here:

Save it to the same location ModMii.exe is saved, then run it.

This will make a bunch of changes to ModMii's source files so that all downloads and generated guides will work\display properly without the nusad google code page.

I plan on eventually releasing an official update with these fixes incorporated, but unfortunately unless my google code account is restored it will not be available via auto updates or the current ModMii Installer. So when\if that happens users will need to download a new ModMii installer that will be hosted elsewhere. I'll be sure to share more info as it becomes available to me.

Do that instead.

Sorry if I sound stupid with this, I put that file in the ModMii folder where the application was located and ran again the download screen was slightly different but am I still supposed to get the Download log that says some Downloads are Invalid, Missing or were Not Updated properly? I am a bit confused.

You are already showing a lack of being able to read directions. This is a major concern bc it is dangerous and can cause your wii to become bricked. Learn really fast of how to read every single word in your generated guide or don't come complaining to us when you screw something up.

Do not worry, when it comes to directions that specifically mod my wii I did read them all I think it was my tiredness that skipped that "run it" part after the comma >_< everything has turned out just fine though thanks.

Well, you have found the post about the alternative download location for those files, but also somehow missed the post with big red letters. I'm not having too much faith in you at this moment.
