um hello if drayanno sorry if i spelled it wrong im japenease man i cant read english good but in japan i heared about u like people saying "DRAYANNO SHOULD MAKE A HACK WITH KAZO WAR" KID #1 "I KNOW THAT WOULD BE TIHT RIHT" kid # 2 and i would like u to help me hack
No you're not. I just checked your IP and you're from Las Vegas, Nevada. Not to mention, you're a dupe of @Big fan of POKEFUN.

Stop making excuses for your English. Japanese people use better English grammar than you do.

Now that is how a Moderator owns someone in true style..

On Topic: I do love these patches though, only played the regular version so far but it does seem to be pretty much a 493 hack, which is good enough for me. I just enjoy playing a pokemon game that doesn't require me to own 2 versions of the same thing or even know someone who still plays. It would be awkward going to my friends and say "So who wants to trade Pokemon!??" or even to do the same thing with kids at the park... It would be innocent enough in both examples, but I'd be labeled as weird almost immediately :(

Hi Dray, first of all I'd like to say that this hack is awesome, really loving it so far~
I do have an issue with my R4, though. I started playing on an emulator but then decided to give it a try on my original R4, running the latest Wood kernel.
I was able to play just fine until I wanted to go back to Pinwheel Forest for some training (I have yet to beat the 3rd gym). However, every time I enter Pinwheel from the north gate, I get a black screen. So far it only, but always, happens there. No matter how long I play, it keeps crashing there. Even after saving right before the entrance. I have no idea how to fix this and it's not a rom issue as I can enter Pinwheel just fine on an emulator.

Do you, or someone else, have any idea on how to fix this? It's really frustrating as it's a real good hack and I prefer playing on my DS rather than an emulator.
Thanks in advance~

EDIT: Playing BlazeBlack, the full version, if it makes any difference.

What kind of flashcard do I need to run HG/SS without it freezing? It's freezing on my R4 SDHC upgrade, and I want to fix this before Dray finishes his new HGSS hack. I used Rudolph and it still freezes on my flashcard

Have you tried using RetroGameFan's kernel on your cart? It will run Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver without a problem, and you wouldn't have to spend any money.
I know you said you "used Rudolph," so may I assume you meant, RetroGameFan's kernel? If your card supports Retro's kernel, and doesn't boot those games, you probably have a setup error.

If you don't mind spending money, get this cart for ten dollars shipped LINK :) Supported by Wood and runs pretty much anything!

I think my SD card is an issue because none of the updates work properly for me. ALways freezes and such when I run a game through something like TTDS so I probably need a new SD. Thanks for the link as well, I'll pick it up!

Ugh that site uses Paypal and I don't have a Paypal account

Nevermind, I got it working. It was something with my SD card. I made a backup of all my files, formatted the SD card and only put the latest Wood and BB on my R4 and it worked :3

There's a better patch out for HG/SS now that might well work with the flashcard, so I probably wouldn't be /too/ hasty in buying a new one. That said, I dunno if it's gonna work or not. If you wanna test the patch out, it's over at Romulation.

Also, glad you got that Pinwheel Forest thing sorted as I hadn't the slightest on how to fix that one. ;X

@ Norton: Hmm, I do kind of like Classic for the Clean version actually. Sounds good :3 Not sure about the full names, although crazy/funky are certainly appropriate (judging from a comparison I saw about BBVW on /vp/ before...) it doesn't really match with Classic. That said, I can't really call it the Modern version either. Kind of difficult.

Also I can't believe I only just thought of this but that overworld sprite thing IS useful after all, since it means I can change the relevant gym leader rematches to their correct overworlds. I'll see if I can get around to doing that sometime after I finish the HGSS hack. In the meanwhile I may consider reverting the battle types, but since the opinion is so divided it's kind of hard to do so. I would consider making two seperate versions, but then I'd have FOUR versions to update each time and that just gets annoying as all hell. Urgh.

Triple battle Skyla is such a nightmare for Nuzlocke challenges, though. =p

There's other stuff I'd maybe consider doing like changing TMs and whatnot but I don't particularly want to nick half of the ideas from BW Deluxe, so I'll probably hold back.

A note to self: Happiny and Raticate are missing their new level-up moves.

Hey Drayano, other than the new HG/SS hack you are working on, do you have any other future projects?

Also, I have to applaud your efforts in BB/VW. I just finished the entire storyline and was left wanting more. I was actually thinking of replaying the game again through a nuzlocke challenge, but I suffered quite alot in this game, so I figured I'd do it in Heartgold instead. It will keep me busy as I wait for your next hack.

Hmm, to be honest, I don't know. I'll probably end up doing B2W2. I was considering a Platinum hack, but all things considered I should probably focus a bit on learning more things for my degree. Hacking is fun, but it's nowhere near as useful as coding things and whatnot. I've got a lot to teach myself, honestly

No, if you want go ahead! You're the one who found out about the overworld editing anyway, so I'm kind of stealing your idea after all.

Question for you people actually; what is your opinion on the game pretty much forcing you to use the Lucky Eggs? Would you prefer if it didn't?
Honestly, having to wear an item to force my pokemon to get stronger instead of wearing an item to give them an edge in battle kind of annoyed me a bit on some occasions. So I would prefer that the Lucky egg was less viable.

Of course. It would be better if it didn't because sometimes it's a better idea to give useful held items to your Pokémon, like Leftovers or whatnot. But you're using them just because the experience needed to be on the same level as your opponents is too high (but this isn't a bad thing ; after all, it's supposed to be a little bit harder than regular B/W).
My opinions : keep using them, unless you have another way to deal with the experience problem. Maybe increasing base exp. of all Pokémon, il you can, would be a good idea.

Well, all I really did is make the levels scale assuming you have the Lucky Eggs equipped; if I were to reverse that then I'd just lower the levels of anything in Chargestone Cave onwards anyway. It's not really a case of Base EXP in this scenario =p If I were to do that, then the Egg simply reverts to being a training aid as normal. I just worry it might make the player go overlevelled, but idk...

So if I do a Version 4, it probably looks like it'll be a couple overworld sprite changes, MAYBE a little movement (but again, don't want to be too similar to Deluxe, regardless of what Ox is saying!) of the sprites and probably an overall level decrease in the latter half of the game. Although that means I'll have to edit all the eastern Unova trainers again and that tends to be so unbelievably boring D: Oh well, I guess it'd just be the levels changed. (And a couple fixes where I forgot things)

Oh, and Oxnite, thanks, haha. I doubt I'll use it either way though, I'm too lazy to change the compatibilities.

edit: Just realised giving things level up moves is going to take years. Urgh.

The lucky eggs were great, as they provided a faster leveling up process to actually contend with the AI. However, even with the lucky eggs, I would still be at a disadvantages to some trainers post-E4. Just imagine if I did NOT use the lucky eggs....

Hi guys, sorry to bother you but can you post the AR codes to disable the 3d Edge Markings, god those thing turn me off like no other for some reason.

Anyway, this is a such an enjoyable hack and the only thing thats preventing me from going the distance is these godforsaken black lines.

PS Its for the Blaze Black version but feel free to give the Volt White version too. might aswell finish both of them =P.

I can't say I have them off hand, although if you can find the B/W codes for them then that'll work too.

Another question; I assume most of you think the changes to the Pokémon are a pretty crucial feature of my hacks, yes? Not to complain too much but implementing them can be a lot of hassle with the way PPRE works, so it might take a little while. I can probably still get it done by end-ish May assuming I don't get bored out of my skull, though.

On that note, I think the Pokemon Changes is all I have left to do now. The Wild Pokémon are complete, the trainer battles are complete, and I think all the scripts I want are implemented in the game. I might still do a little bit of text editing and a tiny bit of revamping with the trainers, but it's definitely nearing completion.

This is just me but, I would like it if legendaries were a TAD bit more common(like 4% more likely to appear)...

That's just me though. I missed my chance of catching Articuno in April because of my horrible luck lol

Νice to hear Dray. Really looking forward to it.

As for the future project, maybe you could work on firered with the 649 patch when it's ready to use. Your previous hack on it was good!
