Most of mine I got new, but online and for deals. I think the only one I paid MSRP for was Kid Icarus. I have no problem with buying used, if in good condition and cheap.

There are always deals and sales if one looks. It also pays to be a regular at locally owned game stores, if you have any in your area.

I've bought all 5 games I have so far new. Then again, all but 2 were pre-ordered/purchased on launch, so that doesn't really count. I want to try to buy all of my games new, unless they're old games or third party games.

Gotten all my games new, haven't looked much into the used game market. Probably gonna pick up a few used such as Star Fox and Cave Story 3D.

I buy them both. Most of my games are brand new, but if I find some used games in very good condition, I'll take them too.

I almost never buy any games brand new or within the same 3 months they came out. I usually buy my games from online retailers, flea markets, or trade them with people I know.

To the OP:
It's better to wait a month or two till after the hype of a game release to buy. I remember when I wanted MK7 it originally cost $40 brand new. After waiting 3 months I noticed at a Gamestop it was $25.00 new.

I only buy my games new becuase i want club nitnedno coins. anyone know if it is possible to buy used that has an unused club nintendo code?
I was going to suggest gamefly because the box for their rental games is kept in a warehouse until the initial rush for the game is over and they are left with excess inventory of games gamefly decides to sell the excess inventory as used games though the only part that gets used is the game cart/disk while the box is untouched except by employees but seeing how your in Canada that is not an option for you.

I have bought some games using this method and all of them have an unused club Nintendo code inside though because the nature of used games in general you will miss out on the extra 20 coins for early registration.

I pretty much only get games day one (Which is stupid because they drop really fast).

I either use Amazon or the Gamestop down the road. Either one works fine.

I generally buy games "new" normally, regardless of system. However, I rarely buy brand new day one. Mostly because I rarely have the money for it at the time. Not to say I don't buy used. All my PS2 games are used for example.

As for my 3DS? I bought all of them new, but only Kid Icarus on day one. I don't think there are any places that have any used 3DS games in my area, or at least that are not Sims 3 *shudder*.

Besides, I like getting the club nintendo codes.

Seriously depends on the game. With rare exceptions, I get mine used at gamestop if a used copy is available (hey, $5 is $5), or else just new. I generally do an internet sweep online beforehand though, and on the rare ocassion that I find it at least $10 cheaper including shipping, I'll buy it there. I remember I got a "like new" used copy of Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition for about $13 (including shipping) on Amazon, and it had the box, manual, 3D slip case and everything. It never hurts to check online for the cheapest price in advance, just in case.

I haven't bought a used game yet. Generally, used prices are only a few quid cheaper close to the game's release, mint condition cannot be guaranteed and buying games used doesn't support the developer. Even months after release, some games can be cheaper new than pre-owned, if you find the right online store with the right deal.

I also never trade my games in, which is why my loft is full of old games from when I was a kid.
