XFlak: Version 4.8.2 fails all downloads for me. 4.8.1 was working good yesterday. Any idea what could be wrong? I have tried with the firewall disabled, but no difference.

Why is the d2x v7 only showing 249 and 250 in modmii? I have the betas for way more than just those two. Are they the only cIOS's that went final?

@Muyfa666,
there is almost no difference between v4.8.1 and v4.8.2. Try a fresh installation of v4.8.2. If that doesn't solve the problem I'll need more info than just "fails all downloads" in order to get to the root of your problem.

@impizkit,
ModMii supports ALL d2x cIOSs. On download page 4 you can select from all availabe bases (ie. 37/38/53/55/56/57/58 ) however on download page 4 you are limited to slots 249/250. If you want to change the slot a cIOS is installed to (ie. 248) then go to ModMii's advanced downloads page and select the base cIOS you want to modify (ie. cIOS249d2x-v6 base 56) and change the slot when prompted. By default ModMii v4.8.2 will build v7-final cIOSs, but you can type "beta" from either download page 4 or the advanced downloads page to select newer\older versions of the cIOS.

it's an issue with ninty servers, even nus downloader (GUI) doesn't work, so I would imagine any homebrew that runs on the wii also won't be able to download anything from NUS.

I think this issue should resolve itself over time, just be patient and wait for ninty servers to come back online

Would my college's security be making the files not download?

50 of 58 files are missing, invalid, or were not properly updated.

sup again.

Seems I have that ModMii command window size issue that has been touched on a few pages back.
On one PC it runs fine. On the other pc, the window is not sized correctly and there are a few errors at the very top.
Here is copy/paste of the ModMii command window:

'chcp' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.
'mode' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

I've tried re-installing and running as admin, no dice.
Not sure what is causing it?
I was attempting a syscheck update, and ModMii would not read the file [errors would pop up for a split second].
The other pc ran fine... is this an isolated problem?

Dear XFlak & satannuts,

I'm very new to Modding.
How do I start the Homebrew Channel? Is it a program on the SD Card (but I can't find it) or already on the Wii when I power it on?
After power on the Wii, these are the selection I can choose:
1. Disc Channel
2. Photo Channel
3. Mii Channel
4. Wii Shop Channel
5. Forecast Channel
6. News Channel
7. USBLoaderCFG v40
Am I missing something? Pls advise

Very good guide that has all the info you need.
Lol, I think you mean terrible guide. I don't understand why that is even posted.

And why not ? It is an excellent guide ! Before ModMii's existence it was the ultimate guide to follow.
Sure ModMii makes everything a lot easier, I agree but that guide still is great IMHO.

hey XFlak:
how do you think about offering users that update their softmod using modmii, a way to upgrade their old wbfs partitions to fat32?

@impizkit,
ModMii supports ALL d2x cIOSs.

When I follow the instructions you just gave me, I am not able to change 249d2x[53]v7 Final to 247 or 249d2x[55]v7 to 248. My intention is to have v7 final versions of all Beta versions that I previously had. Also I am not changing the revision number from 21007 or whatever it is. These 2 will not download. It states that it is retreiving temp file and tries twice and cancels download. All others work but these 2. Can you fix this or show me another way to get them. Thanks in advance XFlak.

@impizkit,
I can confirm it's working, try the following: from main menu enter "a,249d2x53,247,n,y,249d2x55,248,n,y,d,y"

@PsyBlade,
I'm pretty sure wiibackup manager can do that for u (downloadable from ModMii's download page 2). If not, "wbfs2fat" would work. I don't think I want to add a feature in ModMii to do that, at best I could add a note directing ppl to an app that could do it for them.

@WalkerOfTheDay,
I'm not saying it's not a good guide, but the file distribution methods are shady. I've spoken to the ppl behind that guide about using a modmii download queue via cmd line (so that ModMii doesn't steal their guide's thunder and instead runs silently) to share the files their guide needs. They're considering it. Anyways, aside from that I got nothing against the other guide and I actually got lots of respect for the ppl behind it. However, I wouldn't go into their thread and start telling ppl to use ModMii (unless it was to do something their guide didn't cover), that's just rude. That's also why I find it offensive when ppl post in the ModMii thread telling others to use another guide when they don't even have a clue how modmii works (otherwise they wouldn't be recommending something else). Anyways, my point is if someone suggested using the other guide in any other newb thread I wouldn't think its a big deal, but when someone comes into my thread and starts preaching an alternative, that's not cool.

@satannuts,
Go back a few pages and read the solution, I'm pretty sure it had to do with restoring default cmd window settings.

edit:
@impizkit, when u reinstalled ModMii did u install it to a different location? Or is it still using the same temp folder from before? You can try renaming\deleting the temp folder if u like.

I have always used the same folder(s) with modmii. Since the other files worked and just these two didnt, and it is working for you, maybe it was an issue with NUS Downloader or something. I will try again this evening. Thanks again for your amazing support and efforts!

it's possible, could be a firewall or something... maybe u shouldn't try at home or a friends place.

It could also be ninty servers are still fishy in your area, give it some time

Shouldnt? :D

I didnt know we're grabbing files from ninty themselves :O , that is, if ninty is short of nintendo.
