As anyone whose seen demos of Link's latest adventure, Skyward Sword, they may have noticed a large, obstructive heads up display (or HUD, for the less knowledgeable). Fortunately, the final version of the game will ship with multiple HUD options: Standard, Light, and Pro.

Standard is the HUD you've seen all along and in the image above. It will have the Wiimote on screen along with all the buttons, their labels, as well as your standard health and such. Light takes away the Wiimote outline, but keeps the buttons in place. Pro is for most Zelda users, eliminating the Wiimote and buttons entirely and leaving only the health bar, shield, rupees, etc.

Skyward Sword will be shipping out to all regions in mid November. Until then, take a look at some of the game's footage here.[/p]

I pretty much like it when the HUD is not very big. I mean when you get used to the controls you really don`t need to see the instructions anymore...

I think the only things that need to be on the HUD are the hearts, rupees and the item you`ve equipped on B. Oh, and maybe the bottle, just so you know whats inside

This is great news. I remember when I first saw screens of this game I thought that HUD was hideous. It takes up so much of the screen. The Pro option will definitely be perfect.

This game cannot come out fast enough.

Going by the description, wouldn't it be more accurate to call this option a "reducible HUD" rather than saying the game has three different ones? It sounds very similar to what was offered in Metroid Prime.

I sold my wii due to lack of good games, but I know Zelda's going to make me buy another one (that or just rob my mums lol)

well, nicely done, i really didnt like the way they did it on wiis TP
and here, they even added giant fonts, its quite ridiculous.
good thing they have an option to turn it off.

also, shadows are optional? i really wish a few 360 games had options to reduce graphics or effects... random lagging while walking through towns is always annoying and these things probably would help
