I did a new install with r416. I get a code dump & reload back to Wii menu. I switched out r416 & put r415 in & works fine. I still get the Metroid Ridley freeze which is where I think the split is. Disney singit freezes in the same song "when somebody loves me" which I think the split is also. The coverflow isn't recognizing some of the boxcovers & seems to load a little slow. I was running r304 & one day just before I switched to r415 some of the boxcovers weren't showing up, like 20. What would cause that & how do I fix? Also I noticed that Wiibackup manager puts both splits into a flolder & recording backing up through the Wiiflow doesn't. Would this have anything to do with it not loading the 2nd split? If so do I put the 2 splits together in a folder but call the folder what the first split is named? Should it matter whether or not it is in a folder?

The freezes your talking about could be caused by bad rips of the games.I had a copy of Metroid Prime Trilogy and everyone else claimed it worked just fine and played MP3 just fine but every time for me it would just freeze when trying to load MP3.So i deleted it and ripped the game myself and the issue went away instantly.I've also read the Ridley freeze could be linked to the hard drive not being read fast enough. The cover issue your having could be due to a corrupt cover causing the issue or it could be a bug in the version of wiiflow your using. I would suggest deleting all your cover folders and starting from scratch again and see if the issue happens again.

The issue your having with wiibackup manager making two files is because that is how you have it setup in the settings menu in wiibackup manager. You probably have it set to a 2GB file split size.Wiibackup manager will automatically put both splits in the same folder.

Wiiflow is probably set to a 4GB file split size.

You can change the settings in WBM and then copy the game back over to your hard drive and try the game again to see if it freezes or not.
Also you can try other loaders like USB Loader GX and CFG USB loader and see if they will play the games how you currently have them setup.
If they play the games fine then it seems to be an issue within wiiflow somewhere.

r416 is freezing and much slower loading games for me. I had good luck with r415 and the v7a5 IOS's and switched back for now.

I just installed r416 and it's having the page4 loading lag which was described a few pages back. Gonna try r412 which was supposed to cure that problem. Syncing wiimote is also slow. I'm using d2x v7b1d from the wiki page.

I haven't been able to use NAND savegame forwarding. I've tried using many different USB formats and setups, but no good. Currently using d2x v7b1d cIOS and 416-pre2 of WiiFlow, USB with a single partition formatted to FAT32 (4KB Cluster), NAND in /nand, and wbfs images in /wbfs. Anyone have any suggestion?

I would wait for a little bit. Emunand and wii games on the same partition is not possible yet with d2x v7b1d, also the latest Wiiflow (416-pre2) seems to have a problem with FAT32 and NTFS partitions and emunand save, a WBFS partition should work, but you still need a seperate FAT32 partition for your Wiiflow and emunand or a SD card with Wiiflow and emunand.

@Etheboss

Thanks for the info, Etheboss. I haven't used WBFS partitions in a while, so I'll wait. My favorite setup is 8GB FAT32 Partition #1, NTFS Partition #2. I've been waiting for NAND emulation for Channels and Savegame Emulation in a single program, I just wish I had the programming skills to help. By the way, where do you get your info? This is the only thread I can seem to find on the new WiiFlow betas, and the WiiFlow Wiki seems to be a work in progress, and not near complete. I'd be glad to help betatest / bugfix.

go to the IRC....that's what you're looking for....lots of familiar faces, and the amount of wiiflow information being thrown around is ridiculous.

I was testing r416 and found some odd things. I can't run games which is a big negative :-( It just gives the dot.dot progress bar forever.

Plus when you try and run a game it adds these files to the root directory of the drive: import, meta, shared1, shared2, sys, ticket, title and tmp.

Any ideas? I wiped the wiiflow.ini, cache/lists and settings folder to begin with and tried it again but it still is doing this.

I may go back to r415 to see if that helps.

9:51AM Edit

** I think I have it figured out... If there is no wiiflow.ini the default created ones has a setting:

save_emulation=yes

When I changed it to no all the games worked fine and it didn't create all those files on the root of the HD.

So if you have r416 and delete your wiiflow.ini make sure you change that setting to no.

Should the default for this be no so it doesn't trip others up?

10:06AM Edit

Nuts - there is something else that is updateing the save_emulation option back to yes. I made some changes in the main Wiiflow settings menu (changed rumble on and off but it didn't seem to make a difference as rumble stayed on) and the save_emulation in wiiflow.ini got changed back to yes.

This seems to be a big problem since for folks w/o nand setup this is going to cause the games to fail launching.

I will check and make sure it was changing the rumble setting that did it and report back.

10:54AM Edit

I validated that changing the rumble setting in r416 caused the save_emulation option back to yes. I changed a variety of other settings but nothing else caused the change.

I tested r415 and it does not have the same problem so something changed in r416 that causes it. Until it's fixed I am going back to r415.

Please let me know if I can help test in any way. Thanks!

Hey bostonBC, that doesn't seem correct - when you go to the question mark wiiflow show 416 or not?

Quote from changelog

QUOTE said:
Rumble is now handled by the setting you have in your wii settings (home
menu->controller options->rumble) and no longer is a setting in the ini.

*Update language files and add documented ini files for most settings.
*Updated meta.xml with more controls
*Updated Some docs.
*Removed port selection from the makefile and buildtype.sh
*Fixed incorrect title ID for Pokemon Rumble in the channel launcher (thx xFede)
*Replaced old cios detection and hashing with a proper implementation. No more
brute forcing! Also now only d2x cios will be detected, and reliably. (Based on
code from GX by Dimok, thx)
*Added a parameter to Config:save to allow unloading of the ini on save. ie:
m_cfg.save(true);
*Bump version string to 3.0 ALPHA (Big jump, but this deserves a major version
bump)
*Fix most font issues for themes.
*Added sorting by player count and wifi player count for games.
*Fixed positioning of the about screen and game synopsis (its ALMOST perfect
now)
*Moved a vsync in the wait screen.
*Fix a crash when switching to channel/nand view before a cache was created.
*Made a solid attempt at fixing the green screen on ios reload (hope it works
for most of you)
*Fix dumps when booting a game DVD.
*Add creation of folders when using USB saves option.
*Partially fix USB Saves, always works when the game is played form DVD or wbfs,
mixed reports when from ntfs/fat32. (folder creation based on code from GX by
Dimok, thx)
*Fix all blanks in the menus and added some new options.
- Rumble is now handled by the setting you have in your wii settings (home
menu->controller options->rumble) and no longer is a setting in the ini.
- Box mode is now only an ini setting, everyone uses boxmode anyways.
*Now delete the playlog on wiiflow launch, playlog is always written on game
launch.
*Disable_Emu before exitting wiiflow.
*Themes changes:
-Changed thxfont to text_font in GENERAL
-Removed page 7 of the main menu
-Removed boxmode and rumble
-Moved partition selection to page 1 slot 3
-Added a button to toggle savegame emulation in page 1 slot 4
-Moved async network to page 3 slot 3
-Remove ios selection for games, ini only now, otherwise uses what the game
requests with auto_ios
-removed disabling of returnto in game settings, ini only. New d2x method isnt
detected. Replaced it with toggling save emu for that game.
-Only 3 pages in game settings.
-Too confusing to list what all buttons were moved, check default.init
*Removed title downloader coder, wiitdb is working pretty well and so is reading
titles form the game/channel itself.
*Fixed titles for nand and games.
*Made sorting ignore punctuation.
*Option for full emulation in nand and games, and under the id of the game in
gameconfig2.ini full_emulation=
*Add ability to use a separate folder for usb saves and nand emu. savepath= and
savepartition= under GAMES in wiiflow.ini (they default back to the settings for
NAND emu if not set)
**Im sure I forgot some things, but thx to all the testing and help with
documentation from all!**

I agree that with no .ini it does create folders on root

I can confirm it is r416 that I was testing it under where changing rumble modified the save_emulation to yes in the wiiflow.ini. And when that is set the games don't run since it looks like it's trying to run under emulated nand.

REQUEST for all people:

Pending a new official release of WiiFlow all existing languages need to be updated.
A few have been done, but i still have quite a bit that needs translating.

Can everybody please look at the pastie: http://www.pastie.org/2619254
and post a pastie back here with the lines you have translated?

Thanx in advance.
Etheboss, tester and moderator
Wiiflow team.
