Just unlocked Barry. Damn, mission 4-5 is difficult. Endless waves of them. I hid in a corner and put proximity mines everywhere. Right until the second gatling gun guy showed up and I was out of rockets. Takes a LONG time to kill that ass hole with a longbow.

Added you by the way, BeeNii. Won't be online for a while though. 3DS needs charging and I need lunch. Dunno if you got my PM just now, it went kinda screwy on me.

come on monster hunter 3ds! lol.
I gave up on that.

Anyway to me, this game isn't really AS bad as how IGN gave. Personally, I would give it 7.5. The controls are decent, graphics are good (glitches for further away enemies though) and co-op is good.

I read this review on 1UP. Pretty harsh:

QUOTE said:
It's hard to shake the feeling that Mercenaries 3D is the slimy result of a Capcom executive meeting titled, "What can we get away with this time?" Add in the fact that the game basically has no resale value, and you're left with a worthless chunk of plastic that would probably poison you if it could. Like toxic waste, Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D is a disposable byproduct that can't even be disposed of properly.

Comparing The Mercs 3D with toxic waste is pretty rough.

Thanks Feels Good Man, beenii and Blaze163 for your honest insights. I went ahead and bought the game today, but didn't have the time to play it yet.

@Guild Wow, that's really harsh and, well, unfair if you ask me. Doesn't sound too professional either, more like someone's had a bad day and is venting his anger on this game.

Just want to say game is fun and great looking for a portable, ppl are knocking capcom i think they did a great job, my only complaint would be that there should have been dlc stages char and weapons. The framerate is not bad what capcom did was make the enemies in the distance rendered sprites this was done in another game i cant remember which one but that method was used before to simulate a big battle in the background and as you got closer the sprites turned into polygons i guess they did it so that it wouldnt slow the games pace to much but hey they did a great job with the graphics its not 360, ps3 but its really close and it looks better than alot of wii games and i love my wii true its a mini game but a fun one, it is what it is. I'm impressed with it some are not then just move on and for the haters out there saying the 3ds sucks enjoy this ://www.the-magicbox.com/1106/game110627b.shtml and you thought the 3ds cant do good graphics!

I know its a fun game I have it too! But the game has definite flaws. This does not deter from the overall experience but I can't help but think that by Capcom's standards this was a cash in. Also it being a less capable machine than a 360 does not excuse frame lag, its a powerful machine. A game like kid icarus was running very smooth in the trailer with lots of action going on(I know these are two different games)but it is possible to reduce lag. Perhaps Capcom rushed this game a bit.

Krauser is the best character in the game. Fact.

>__>

Even though the bow isn't a one-shot kill any more, it's still powerful enough to drop most enemies with two shots. It has infinite ammo, quick draw speed, no reloading and it's easy to aim. It's massively overpowered. The only thing it seems to struggle with is bosses, but then he has a rocket launcher with two shots. Used correctly that rocket launcher can take down two bosses with one shot. And when I inevitably run out of rockets, grenades are alarmingly effective when I have the explosives expert skill equipped. Krauser is outright broken if you ask me.

I wonder if Wesker is any worse. Not unlocked him yet.

So how does the game look?

Is the 3ds vs psv gap as big as psp vs ds in looks?

RES Mercs look beautiful on the 3DS the only problem visually is that Capcom cut corners and used sprites on the enemies when they r in the distance which doesnt bother me because you have a lot of enemies on top of you that you have to worry about, Now for ppl that get their kills from the distance you'll notice the animated sprites, still not a problem considering its a port from the big boy systems which gets pretty close visually like street fighter iv and it's also a first gen 3DS game. I know its second wave but this was made to be a launch title so it was a quick job and not to mention its on a 2gb card and the 3ds can use up to an 8gb card in the future so yea I'm impressed with what I'm playing on a portable system, It's visually better than what I've seen on the wii and psp due to the MT Framework engine and its only the beginning for the 3DS. I just hope company's don't get side tracked by the psvita and forget about making great games on the 3DS. here check this out and you tell me if its better than what you've seen on the psp.

Capcom has improved the visuals from the demo they added alot of detail on the characters and enemies. Also look at Jill's hand in first person view it looks way better than in the demo,In the demo her hand looked like a potato LOL

Look at game stop and some say it has a "talk down to you" attitude?

The 3D is okay, I guess. It adds some depth to the stages and menus (I didn't notice any pop-out effects), but overall it's less impressive and feels rather flat when compared to Zelda or DoA for example.

The bow isn't actually all that. It has a low firing rate, it takes three shots to kill standard enemies in later stages and bosses like the Garrador/Executioner/Chainsawdude shrug aside the bow without fuss - you really have to time your shots carefully for it to actually be broken, which is fine by me. As for Wesker, he gets a handgun, a magnum and a shotgun. He has lower ammo than anyone else, but his guns are much stronger.

It's actually quite strange, as I remember reading some guy's impressions from some pre-release event and he was particularly amazed about the 3D effect in RE. He was saying it was the best implementation of 3D in 3DS games, especially the laser beam was creating great impression of depth etc. Well, maybe it wasn't true after all.

Finally they came out with a decent game for the 3DS in my opinion. I found zelda waaaay too boring and confusing. It's almost impossible to know what you need to do and where you need to go and there's hardly any action in it. The entire time I played zelda I had to look up you tube videos as a guide to know what to do. Finally RE is the 3DS' first game that actually has action in it where you can shoot stuff, run around guns blazing, etc... can't wait for the demo it comes with to be released. But personally I think it's the best title they have out so far.

You sir, are awful at Zelda. The game is very easy, the puzzles are simplistic, and the map isn't even all that big making knowing where you need to go a very short adventure, even if you find yourself stuck.
