I re-softmodded my 4.2U Wii which went fine but looks like I still had to update IOS249 with cIOS Xr20b installer to get COD - BlackOps working off 249 because it would get stuck at the loading screen.
I thought this process had all the latest and greatest IOS's
black ops works fine using ModMii's recommended cIOSs if u use either 224 or 250 to launch the game

the recommended cIOS249v20[56] has the best compatibility of all the cIOSs.
Base 56 is the only cIOS that couples the faster usb loading speeds of base 57 and the peripheral support (ie. guitar hero games) of base 37.
The only game cIOS249v20[56] cannot launch is black ops, but it can still be used to launch the usb loader as long as u select a base 57 cIOS to launch the game.

so instead of reinstalling cIOS249 with base 57, u could have just launched it using any base 57 cIOS, which in your case was either 224 or 250
Just what I was looking for.
See, I'm trying to play CoD:BO with no luck so far. I recently updated my hacks with Modmii (like, 2 days ago) so I guess I have everything up to date.
I'm using USBLOADER GX. I tried starting the game with cios 223, 250 and the other one which I don't remember... Nothing works. It stays on the loading screen.
Any tips?
Thanks in advance.

I don't have any wii problems.

I just wanted to say thanks to xflak for creating this program.
It has been very helpful in modding my wii and I have told a few people about this and they have also really enjoyed the ease of use of modmii.

So again, Thank You xflak and keep up the good work.

Your very welcome! I'm glad you and your friends have had a positive ModMii experience!
So, is there a way to run COD:BO with GX? : )
yeh. if you've a;ready softmoded with modmii then all you do is go to the USB GX (or try wiiflow which is like apples coverflow or CFG which customizable to your likeing.) thread on sticky and download and unzip to the appropriate dir.

usbloader gx is too buggy, I could tell u how to get it working IN THEORY using usb-loader gx, but that doesn't mean it will actually work.

anyways, from ModMii's download page 2, download and install cIOS249v19[57], then use that to launch usb-loader gx and also to launch the game. If it doesn't work, u can try a different version of usb-loader gx. If u can't get any version of USB-Loader GX to run, try configurable usb-loader or wiiflow.

to get multiplayer to work, its the same as I explained a few pages back... create 2 campaign profiles, save and quit, then start multiplayer using each one. If you've never ever used the shopping channel before, u need to first update it (and IOS56) then launch it in order to accept the user agreement, then u will be able to download and install the multiplayer update for COD:BO.

codbo works perfectly on gx r938 + cIOS249v20b[57] on a wbfs partition, unfortunately AFAIK it doesn't work on fat and ntfs partition.

Oh, gx team is working hard to release a new public stable release.

Hmm I've tried searching for this problem but I can't seem to find a fix for it

I followed the modmii guide and once I got to the prii loader step I try to install it and I get this error

ES_identify failed, error 4294966279 ios58 not patched prii loader

Was wondering if theres anyone who can help me with this

Thanks!
and is Prii Loader required to run most/all games, I believe its like a system to recover a bricked wii right (or to prevent bricking)

@lostwiiinspace,
download that cIOS from download page 2, start up MMM's wad manager (load IOS236 first), then install the new cIOS. Coding a usb-loader is not my area of expertise... u have A LOT of learning to do, and considering you're still learning how to install a cIOS... I'd say ur probably in over your head, but don't let me discourage u.

@JDea,
Are you using an SDHC card? Someone else had the same problem, it should be reloading to IOS236, but for some reason its not. In your SD:\apps\priiloader folder, is there a boot.dol and a boot1.dol?

Priiloader allows u to block updates and many other useful system menu hacks. It also is a form of brick protection, it protects from all kinds of bricks excluding those affecting the system menu or the system menu IOS. It is not required to run games, but it will assist u in running original discs from the disc channel without having to perform any updates found on the disc.

Thanks for the reply, I'm using a regular 2GB SD Card currently because I was upgrading from 3.3U,

I'll check whats in the priiloader folder when I get back home, so once prii loader is installed it also lets me access the news channel, weather channel etc?

Thanks for the reply

If anyone is interested I managed to get CODBO working with my actual cIOS and everything as MODMII modified by using rev1016 of usbloader GX. It seems to be working ok...
I would use CFG but I think GX is simpler and besides I love how whenever you start a game such as metroid trilogy it asks you which dol to start automatically : ).
CFG doesn't do that... I'm not sure why though :S
CFG should reduce a bit all the options and stuff it has. Cause most of the time it only confuses people (I'm not saying I don't understand the options or anything. I'm just saying that simpler is always better, press A bam disc spinning settings and back. Those are the only options in GX)
Thanks again.

Just used modmii......followed the instructions perfectly for a virgin wii although my wii has been modded for over two years and I just wanted to update my cios's. Added all the files including the dark theme to the sd card as per instructions and then restarted the wii.......nothing appeared to be different except that various new channels had been added to my homebrew channel..........I guess I am now expected to install the new cios's from the homebrew channel? I didnt see this part in the instructions and dont want to do it in the wrong order or install to the wrong base or something like that.

Help please.
