So I went to gamestop and they had a used DSi XL on sale and I have been wanting one for a while now so I got it. When I got it home and turned it on it asked me to enter my settings and start by hitting okay. No matter what I do I cannot get okay to push or any buttons to act as if they were the ok button. Is the unit a brick from someone who hacked it and sold it, is the touch screen dead, the whole thing dead, or am I doing something wrong and just an idiot? I plan to take it back latter today if I cannot get it working. Thanks for the help all.

EDIT: I have some basic NDS tools that might help. So please any help would be great.

So you mean that both touch screen and ABXY buttons are not working? I'll take it back if I were you. If you don't want to take it back you can call Nintendo, provided that it is still in warranty.

I highly doubt that it's within warranty, and I'm also 99.9% sure that all issues have to be taken up with the store of purchase (in regards to pre-owned hardware).

Just take it back to them. You might be able to get a discount on a brand new DSi XL because of the inconvenience.

Sometimes it's not a good idea to buy something second-hand.
Maybe you should have tried it? If they won't let you try it, force them. With cookies!

I bought a PSP second hand,
and the Analog Stick was semi-broken.
If you move it right, in most games my character automaticly walks right until I press left (or up or down, but that's much harder because you can still hit right)
Now it even got worse, it also sometimes happens when I press up and down!

Anyways they gave me a new one and appologized profusely. One thing the new one the system menu says 1.4U so does that mean my SC2 will work on it? Thanks all.

Yeah, some gamestops don't really check out systems when they are traded in (although they are supposed to), and some are "refurbished" by Gamestop's office, but..... they don't always get fixed quite right, because they obviously aren't the original manufacturer and don't really have any business refurbishing the consoles.

Uhhh... pretty sure you should pin that one on your city/county gov't. I don't think there's ever been a case where the federal government took care of public transportation.
