Just what the title says, she plays a couple of games on my DS, but lately she has been asking for games like Petz and similar shovelware titles. What games could I give her to play that she'll enjoy

If she wants Petz, you give her Nintendogs.

Yeah, or in any case, let her try Petz, and then show her Nintendogs and let her choose.

That way she won't throw a fit because she's not getting what she wants, and she'll play a better(?) game.

I think Nintendogs 1st, then pets.

If she plays Petz 1st, she might prefer Crap over Quality like so many FF7 fans. I mean she's 10 years old, like she has any real video game standards. Most FF7 fans of today were 10/teenagers back then. When I was young, I was happy playing mediocre/sucky games.

>Comparing Petz to FFVII
I resent this comment completely, I'm fine that you don't like FFVII but comparing it to Petz is just WRONG!

Maybe she'd like New Super Mario Bros, or Mario Kart. Nintendogs is aging but I'd imagine its better than Petz. Other than the pet game genre try finding some simple platformers, possibly even Pokemon.

My cousin is like 8 and she has a DS lite (and I'm stuck with a crappy old one, BUT I HAVE AN R4 SO HAH!)

Anyway... she enjoys Nintendogs, Imagine series and Mario Kart

Buy her an Acekard2i or similar grade of choice, and load er up with every last schlock annoying little girl game without exclusion. You'll own her soul and maybe when she's a 15 year old girl it will have been worth the wait

Think of it as if you are playing a live girl simulator game

You'll enjoy levelling her up.

Pretty good comparison to the kids love of FF7 making them think it's made of pure awesome, just as no nothing kids now can be confused by thinking a Petz or 'Imagine' game is just as nice today because they don't know better.

As it has been said if the wants an 'ends in Z' game give them something the same in general but better and let them know it's a 'better version' of the game as kids love better and 'bestest' things. Worst comes to it, then give them the garbage afterward and they can likely see why it's not to hot while at the same time realizing it themselves so they're not confused about it later like all the FF7 blind suckups over at gamefaqs.com on the bi-yearly character battles and so on.

FF7 I'm not saying it's bad, 8 is, but it's mediocre so no I'm not trying to start a fight (make another thread for that.)

I've got a 10 year old niece who loves Canvas Curse. It's really simple for children to play, and it's a lot of fun. Cute, too.

Try Canvas Curse or one of the pokemon titles. They're easy to get into and aren't heavy starters.
