For whoever asked about the map it's TCELES B HSUP (read it backwards...), this was one thing that didn't translate well on the WSC version, since there was no select button. Never did see how it worked on the PSX version.
It's on the PSX version. They just replaced B with one of the other buttons.

What a waste...if I wanted to play FF1 and 2, I'd get my NES emulator and play. Here I thought they'd at LEAST upgrade the graphics a little...oh well...I might as well play it anyways...

FF1 and 2...I've played both...graphics were the SAME as this one. Seriously, if you wanna play them, just get the NES rom and play it there...or else this is basically a waste of time...

For once I actually wholeheartedly agree with you Dais, it's clear this person needs his visual senses realigned

Now your going to seriously tell me it looks the same

Edit: If anyone hear reads japanese and wonders why the characters name's appear to be giberish, that's because I have no idea what I was putting in so I chose symbols at random, although I'm almost curious if any of them actually turned out to be names and not somehting like hwsfgui

Maybe he has a wsc or one of those nes systems for the blind or something and is just seriously confused..... or maybe this is a rather weak attempt of his at humor?

Japanese (kana) letters are syllables, so a random selection will result in something readable most of the time. Your characters are named (top to bottom) "Katsuta", "Sujiba" or "Sujipa" (too small), "Miyoi" and "Amaya". According to enamdict, "Katsuta" and "Amaya" are real Japanese names. The only one wich seems to be garbled is "Miyoi", if that third letter is a "small i".

RPG characters usually have weird names anyway =)

Don't forget that they also added bonus stuff, as well as (the most important factor in my own opinion) revamping the magic system. I'm eager to see what FF1 is like with a mage in the party. Having a limit of four spells per spell level (at your average experience level) made magic completely pointless in the game. So my ideal party has always been two fighters and two blackbelts. If you don't have at least one fighter in your party, you're just not experiencing the game properly (to hell with those other experimental joke parties), and two fighters is better than one. And after the class change, blackbelts are the best character in the game once you remove their weapons. Just not strong enough with defense to lead a party.

So many great memories are linked to playing this game. I owned two copies of the Nintendo Power strategy guide (best strategy guide ever, by the way) and would re-read it constantly before I even owned the game. Just the pictures alone of those now famous sprites were a limitless source of inspiration.
