Here is the new version of Simple WBFS File Manager (gui for wbfs_file) version 2.0.0.0
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=XFU9H246

Would you please put it to somewhere other than megaupload ? (e.g. mediafire)

Thanks !

What's so bad about megaupload? Add "mgr_dl.php" between the slash and the question mark.

Noth over 2GB, but under 4gb so there would only be 1 wbfs file (RKME5D Mortal Kombat: Armageddon 3.84GB and RXDE4Q DisneyThinkFast 3.42GB) and used Wii Backup Manager by fig2k4 to convert them using a 4GB split format put them onto my main drive and tried to play them.
I don't know anything about Disney's Think Fast, but Mortal Kombat: Armageddon requires the alt dol technique for it to work.

wbfs_file 1.7
wbfs_file_1.7_win32.zip
includes windows binary and source

Changes:
v1.7:
* Changed extract_file filename to be non-case-sensitive
and take an optional output file parameter:
extract_file []
* exit code from the program should now properly indicate an error

Could you please write the changes when you commit your code in googlecode?
It will be much easier to track the changes rather than searching in this long topic.
Thanks for your great work!

Here's a little script to aid the resplitting process:

EDIT: here's the corrected version:
resplit2.bat

:: place wbfs_file.exe in same directory where this .bat file is located
:: edit the below two variables: WBFS_DIR and TEMP_DIR
:: and run
set WBFS_DIR=I:\wbfs
set TEMP_DIR=D:\temp

edit: forgot to mention:
only the games that need to be resplit will be processed, so those that are already a single .wbfs file will not be touched and those that already use the 4gb-32kb split size will also not be touched.

The output is not pretty but it works:

Code:
D:\Wii> resplit.bat
Games to be re-split in I:\wbfs: ..

RBUP08 : Resident Evil The Umbrella ChroniclesÂÂÂÂ3.89G
RCJP8P : The ConduitÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂ2.52G

Moron question here...

The small song clip from CFG USB Loader, when u launch Rabbids Go Home, where can I find it?

Would love to have it on my cell. ;-)
It's in the games ISO file.

That makes me wonder if anyone can do a PC tool to get audio out of the opening.bnr
and save it as an mp3, for example? I also would like to get some tune as a ringing tone...

i asked for this PAGES ago - any chance of an option to thow the mp3 onto the fat32 drive if you chose to do so in the global options?
this would really really be brilliant
love the loader

EDIT - HUGE HUGE thanks for the resplit option - fantastic!!!
many thanks

Disney Think Fast doesn't require any special settings, It play straight out of the bx, so to speak.

I have the settings saved to point to the alt dol on the disk.

Both games work perfectly fine when used with the 2GB split version of a .wbfs file.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I just did an online update to cfg48-fat.dol.
I took 2 of my game from the backup drive which were .wbfs 2GB split files.
Both launched fine but when they got to the loading screen after all the creator credits the both hung and I had to hard reboot the Wii.
Does something need to be enabled in the loader to play 4GB split games or was the option that I saw for just ripping them from with in the loader?
What could the problem be.
I use WBFS Backup Manager because I'm not good with command line apps and really wasn't sure how to do it wit wbfs_file from Oggzee.
I'll be glad to try it wi wbfs_file if someone gives me the command line my source drive is J and destination drive is G.
Thanks for the help.
I have noticed that the wbfs backup manager had many bug reports so yes maybe try recoverting with the wbfs_file tool. So J: is a wbfs partition and G is the fat partition? Then run this:

wbfs_file J: extract_wbfs RKME5D G:\wbfs

But before that, delete the G:\wbfs\RKME5D.wbf*

Maybe it is corrupted already on the wbfs partition or something, in that case you can try converting directly from the .iso if you have it, just drag & drop the .iso to wbfs_file

Let us know if it helps or not. Perhaps there is a bug somewhere with 4gb support, but i hope not
smile.gif

Can anyone confirm that armageddon works fine on fat with 4gb split?
oh and, i presume you're using the latest cfg v48 right?

ouch, it checks for temp dir, and reports missing wbfs dir:

if NOT EXIST %TEMP_DIR% (
echo Error: missing wbfs dir: %WBFS_DIR%

you can edit that to:

if NOT EXIST %WBFS_DIR% (
echo Error: missing wbfs dir: %WBFS_DIR%

i will upload a corrected version

EDIT: here's the corrected version:

resplit2.bat

I used WBFS Manager to put Wii ISOs onto my 500 gb partition (F) on my 1tb Iomega external hard drive. I have a Wii 4.2U, with all of the stuff installed correctly, but I'm having a problem.
frown.gif

Configurable USB Loader:
  • I opened Configurable USB Loader from the Homebrew Channel
  • Everything loads correctly.
  • When I click on a game (i.e. Sing It: Pop Hits, for my little sister), it plays the title music, and says the name of the game
  • After I click on "Boot ISO", it lays "Loading. Please Wait...", but just freezes there.
Can anyone help me with any of these problems?

A few more details, what cfg version? 48?
What split size? 2gb or 4gb?
can you try using wbfs_file to make the .wbfs and see if it makes any difference?
edit: also, is your cios 222 working fine otherwise? did you install the latest 222 rel.4? (from uloader 3.1)
Are you using cfg48.dol or cfg48-fat.dol?
Does running these games from a wbfs partition work?
edit2: ah i just realized you're not using fat, no idea what's your problem ...

I have tried MK:A now and it works fine for me using fat, 4gb split, cfg48, wbfs_file. It looks wii backup manager gui is really having problems with creating the .wbfs files, so I recommend using wbfs_file until the gui tool is fixed. There are more similar reports in the wii backup manager thread:

QUOTE(nikeymikey @ Nov 21 2009, 07:18 PM) Just tried adding 2 more games to my HDD using the 4Gb split option, both give black screen upon loading.
Re did the split using wbfs_file 1.7, both games worked fine.
A bug???

Thanks Oggzee,

That's what I suspected, I just haven't had time to try it yet.
I'm going to convert them now and try again, when my son get's tired of playing (which may be a while).

With some games i got this error:
33av2pv.jpg

There is a way to solve it?
I have received reports about that before, it seems some tools which copy only game partitions don't update the partition table properly, so when the update partition is tried to be read it fails. I wonder, what tool did you use to create those .wbfs files? wbfs_file or something else?

You can try solving this by using -g to only copy game partitions.
change the line in resplit.bat from this:
wbfs_file.exe "%%I" extract_wbfs_all "%TEMP_DIR%"
to this:
wbfs_file.exe -g "%%I" extract_wbfs_all "%TEMP_DIR%"

And if that still fails, you can try using -f instead of -g and it should succeed but it will ignore also errors in the game partition so i would not do that, instead, re-convert from a proper .iso.
