u need to reinstall your system menu you can do this using either the waninkoko update tool or finding a .wad of 4.0u

u can download this using the NUS Download app by WB3000

i'm not sure of the title ID but someone from your side of the pond should know.

I'm not sure about what menu is on punch out (i think 3.4), but make sure IOS60 is installed if you are going to install the 4.0 wad.

If 4.0 is not on the disc, you are likely missing the IOS. Installing SM 4.0 without IOS60 will fully brick the wii, so its best you install the IOS60 as well.

Also, Klinikal, the title id for the SM 4.0 is 0000000100000002 in NUSD. Versions are 416 for Jap, 417 for USA, and 418 for PAL. The title id for IOS60 is 000000010000003C.

I believe it's 3.4. If it was 4.0 you'd have a little picture of an SD card near the bottom left of the screen (which is the button for the SD card menu).

Having the same issue here. Made a mistake and installed the Pal 3.4E update from Punch-Out!!

Is there a way I can fix it back to 3.4U?

I have a CycloWiz modchip and do not have the homebrew channel installed.

Can I make a bootable disc with the 3.4U update or something?

You may have to simply wait for a newer update of a NTSC game if you are actually on 3.4. If you are on 3.3 or less you can run a bootable disc with anyregionchanger. Have you tried getting a hold of a backup of the US version of Punch Out and running that (might not work but worth a try as you both have hard modded wiis). If you had backed up your nand via bootmii you could have simply recovered that way.
