The topic about how many NDS games you actually own got me thinking...

What was the game that made you completly lose faith in NDS game developers and turn to roms using R4 ect ect carts?

Did you buy a game thinking it would be a good play only to find it was the biggest waste of money you've ever seen. or did you start your rom journey from the beginning you got your DS?

Mine was point blank DS. i paid £20 for it and im a huge fan of shooting games for ps1/ps2 and i thought ahh point blank a fun little game just to remenise but omg it was pants... ok its not going to be the best game but it was completely dire they're was a terrible download play option and so few levels it was barely worth it. i decided then and there i was getting an R4.

Bought Games: pokemon pearl , point blank DS , 42 clubhouse games , brain training , metriod prime.

Games kept: pokemon pearl

I bought Super Mario Bros first, and I loved it.
Then I bought Pokemon Diamond, also loved it.
They both cost like 50 $.
And then I bought Magical Starsign for like 40 $, which I did not like at all.
And my mom started getting pissed at me because she thought the games were to expensive to waste all my money on.
Then my cousin showed me how her brother had a flashcard and had all of these games and he didnt have to pay or anything.
Soo, me being the nerd I am, googled it and payed like 70 $ for my R4DS to be shipped from China to here, lol.
Best investment I ever made =D

I mostly buy games that are worth it on pc and others that really arent easy or annoying to pirate. Smash Brothers Brawl, im looking at you.

But if its a game I really like, i will often buy it to support it. Same with CD's

I got a flash cart because there were some games I was propangandaed into buying by the internet (Bleach) and i didn't like them. And i bought a lot of games I didn't like and wasted a lot of $.

So I bought a flashcart to prevent dissapointment. And also to play free games like my friends cos they were all laughing at how noob and stupid i am for buying games.

for me it was the other way round. i got a flashcard before buying a single game. then tried some games, one of the first was zelda:Ph - i bought zelda after finishing it on the flashcard.

now i have 11 or 12 ds games. i tried the majority of them before buying.. (chrono trigger was an instant buy for me, didn't have to try this prior to preordering;)

i also try to support smaller, innovative games - like soul bubbles.

For me it was:

Should I buy Sonic Rush for $60 or buy a flash cart for the same price and get the rest of my games free.

^At the time.

Well i bought my R4 just because i though that 50-60 euro for each game is way to expensive and there is a chance that you won't like the game after buying it so the R4 was my solution, too bad i only knew about the R4 back then

Actually, I have never lost faith in game developers. Heck, I'd love to spend my money to quality titles like Animal Crossing Wild World or The World Ends With You

The only problem being I can't buy them here

every store sells pirated version. Even Gamespot

I have never lost faith in a developer. I originally was buying a flash cart just because music playback. Then I realized it played roms. A HUGE plus. Haven't bought a DS game since.

I first bought Nintendogs (lol no comments but I actually liked it) Then Pokémon Pearl and last but not least Mario Kart DS...

Then my best friend was really getting me pissed because I hadn't a R4DS and he did... I asked him how to get one and then after about 1 month the R4 was in my house...

Now I own the cheapest flashcard xD A DSTT which is a great card...

I started off buying a bunch of games. Almost anything mario (which at the time was New Super Mario Bros *still one of the best games for DS imo* Mario Kart and Mario 64 DS) and I bought lost magic(sp?) and magical starsign..

Then I found the m3 simply lite (or something like that) and not long after that the r4 (and have since upgraded to Cyclo)

Of the hundreds of games I have played since I got the cyclo, I figure maybe a dozen or so would have been worth buying.

Those arent good odds if you are spending cash money.
