I just turned on my Wii to use this program... it rocks so hard! I love just turning on my Wii to turn it off!

No, but seriously, this could have benefits... homebrew programs such as HTTPDiscDumper (wifi disc dumper) could be set to shut down your Wii when the copy has finished... HINT HINT HINT!! Since I usually set up my Wii at night to dump (since it takes 3+ hours, it would be nice if it just shut itself off afterward...

also, if you do not want your console to be merely put to standby, want WC24 on and are too lazy to get up and hold down power

I could understand a program to eject a disc but I don't see the usefulness in this.

Erm... wouldn't a disk eject be even more useless? I mean, with this it'll fully turn off your Wii with a quick click of the channel (assuming this is a channel, of course) rather than holding down a button or getting up to hold down the power button on the Wii.

If you eject the disk, you'd have to get up to pull the disk out, or re-insert it... and you're right there at the button.

I kinda dig the idea of this and i'll be checking it out soon.

We're getting lazier 'n lazier by the second.

Holding down a button is WAY too much work.

but then you have to wait like three seconds while it stops the disc and slides it out whereas it should be doing that while you're getting up to change the disc

Hardly a quick flick - you have to click the channel (if it's a channel), wait for it to display, then click start.

Quicker and easier to just press the power button on the wiimote for 1second.

I can see it's use in the HBC though.

This is awesome.

the use is that the power button doesn't work for a lot of homebrew. I don't even think it works in HBC9, does it? (I mean, the button on the remote.)

personally, I was sick of exiting HBC which just reset the wii, and then I could turn it off (put it in standby.)

This is awesome if I finish playing an emulator and just want to turn the wii off afterwards without rebooting the wii or holding in the power button on the console to turn it off hard.

The brilliance of this program is that you can turn the Wii off, not standbye, without having to get up.

Using the Wii remote only places the Wii into standbye mode.

Turning off at the consol - meaning holding the power button in for a few seconds turns teh Wii off completely and the light goes RED.
Turning off with the remote the Wii goes into Standbye and teh light goes ORANGE

I have always wanted to be able to turn the Wii completely off - meaning not standbye - without having to always get up

Though I will probably never use it. 1. I do not know how and 2. I have not ever used howmbrew of any sort on my Wii (Still the original Wii from the midnight Openeing at EB Games Dec06)

Yes - and using this program only turns it into standby mode - the only way to turn the wii off completely is to pull the psu from it.

No - that is only if you have that crap connect4 stuff. I just touch the power button on the console and it turns into standby (red light) instantly.

As above, my wii goes into standby (RED light) by holding the power button on the remote for 1sec.
