You will need a Internet connection for this method to work.

Just follow 'Step 8'. That will fix the Shop Channel Issue for 3.2 users.

A couple of questions...

First, can someone briefly explain what cIOS is? I see it mentioned everywhere, but I don't know what it is. Second, step one of this guide is simply "Install HBC". Well, if I have a Wii with the latest firmware and no HBC installed, what should I use to install? I attempted to install it via the Twilight Hack and got some sort of exception error.

Since IOS16 is illegal to share, i've requested an updated archive (minus IOS16) to replace the old one.

I can confirm that for people who have flashed to 3.3U, that this works. Thank you very much.

Step 8 - Using the ‘Homebrew Channel’, open ‘Install Shop IOS51’. Say ‘Yes’ to installing the ‘IOS51’ and ‘Yes’ to patching a fix but ‘No’ to the ‘Wii Shop Channel’ (it shouldn’t matter if you install but it won’t make any difference).
When do we choose 'No'?

Also, as I am at 3.2e should I upgrade!?

Thank you. This a Great guide.

^ Just say 'Yes' to all three options.

Means the Wii can't find an Internet connection. That's my bad for not saying a Internet Connection is required.

If that is not the case and you're Wii has an Internet Connection, then I don't know at the moment.

Install the 'Wii Gator Channel' and use that to boot the trucha games.

It's a modified Custom IOS that allows a lot more Wii games to run perfectly on the Backup Loader or WiiGator.

I'm not sure if you can install the Homebrew Channel using the Twilight Hack with the latest firmware. If it doesn't work, you're out of luck for now.

Done. I have started to improve the guide so hopefully I'll have it updated this weekend.

So if starting from a blank slate with a new Wii with the latest firmware there's nothign that can be done at the moment? Oh well. Thankfully, I already have the HBC installed on mine, but I guess my friend is out of luck for now.

I apologize is this is a dumb question or if this has been asked many times before. But what would happen if one were to format the Wii system memory? Does it just wipe the channels/saves and leave the IOS as the current one? or does it wipe it back to the original?

^ Formatting your Wii doesn't delete anything related to the Wii's firmware. Updating the Wii however does affect some IOSs.

Quick question. If you are on 3.2 with HBC9 and cIOS installed running WiiGator0.3 and everything works fine, can you just proceed and officially update system?

Yes or No (small explanation please for no)

hi there, my first post here......so bear with me please
ohmy.gif
)

i have a NTSc Wii with D2Pro9. some time ago while i updated with a PAL game - the NTSC fix dealt with that.
oct 25 it happened again - kids will be kids (guess i should disable wifi - my fault).

this of course semi-bricked me again. opera page at settings.
instead of waiting for the next ntsc update i played around.

i installed HBC beta 9 (never had any hbc before). loads up nicely.
used cIOS downgrader 1.2 - downgraded to 3.1U. and used the ntsc fix to get back up to 3.2U (no real reason why i went to 3.1 - 3.2)
wad manager 3 lets me install wads - nicely.

settings works nicely, HBC works, shop says i need an update, etc etc but when i tried to run wads i got a black screen.
at first i was getting 'work wont or something like that - wads were PALS).
changed them to NTSC and now all i get is black screens.

finally the question - do i need to take the oct 23 ntsc update for the wads to work?

^ What wads were you installing? It's most likely the Wii is trying to load a wrong TV setting. Most WADs should work fine on 3.2U.

@minjeeta: Yes

Radioshadow is right with yes , but if you want to install any wads after that you have to go the long way around - choice is yours.
