Don't worry about it. If I'm going to do this, I want to get the one everyone is raving about. I'll find the cash and go for it. Thanks for the offer, though.

Hi, ozmodchips, I have LU567XXXXXX Wii (US). Can't find information if this is D2C2 with pins cut or not. In this case, I guess D2pro9 v2 +chip+screwdriver (soldered on) package would be good, isn't it? Do you have recommendations from you inventory? BTW, how long will it take to ship to US? Thanks, man

Hello, I just got a wii from amazon, and I ordered the v4c clip that works up to d2c-2, but now seeing the news I worry I might get a d2e drive. What are my choices OzModChips if this happens? Can I update it if i put it in another d2c-2 drive?

Geez, it's been 2 weeks and mine still hasn't arrived. USPS tracking says it "was processed and left our JAMAICA, NY 11405 facility on June 27, 2008". Anyone else ordered one in the US? How long did it take?

Where in the US are you? I am in NJ and I got it in about 10 days. Once it left Jamaica, NY it was here a few days later.

I ordered on the 19th. Oz shipped it out next day or I think it was same day, just they are like 14 hours ahead in Australia.

If you are in California, than should be seeing it any day now. . You will probably get it Saturday or Monday (due to 4th of July). Me, I am waiting on my Wii to arrive next week from California. Scheduled to get here on the 9th and it was shipped fedex on July 2nd. Just to show you how long it takes from East to West coast. Only priority Can't wait to see how it goes.

I'm in Indiana.

Edit: well, speak of the devil, I just got it today. Now to get this sucker on there!

Edit : Damnit, I need a tiny philips screwdriver. Thought all I would need was the triwing, lol.

Goddamn this is such a pain in the ass. So I installed it, seemed pretty straightforward. Try to load a game, but the disc can't be read. Try to load wii sports, that also can't be read. Now I'm trying to disassemble it again and one of the damn screws' edges are rubbed down so now I can't unscrew it >:(

Ok, I'm having problems. So whenever I have it the clip on, the disc spins for a few seconds then stops. When the clip's off, the wii reads games fine. I got the D2Pro 9 wire soldered onto Wiiclip V4 , and my wii's cpu is G2C D2C (no second line of text on the cpu). I've reseated the clip multiple times, making sure it's very snug and nearly flush with the PCB. When I have it on, it feels very secure.

But, again, it doesn't work. When the clip is off, the wii works again. I'm using both the packaged wii sports and a burned game to try.

No way with the new D2C2 chipset yet, here is a pic to help identify the new unmoddable chipset:

Ok, so I just looked back through this thread, and my Wii is the "old" D2C chipset. Meaning, maybe it's just a regular D2C and not a D2C2. Not sure if this makes any difference since this D2Pro 9 wire is supposed to work on all wiis...

This is worrisome for when I get my Wii. Did you get the V4 or the V4C, and did you get it presoldered or soldered it onto the wii-clip yoruself? I wish I could help you with this problem but I reall yknow nothing about this.

Just curious about the model of wiiclip and if you soldered or oz did.

Ok, I've added some pics and a clip of what's going on.

My Wii, opened.

Wii with clip on...odd angle, but I was trying to show how flush it was with the board

Another shot.

And here's a youtube vid of it in action. Notice that when I put the game in, the two leds briefly light up. The red then the blue. Then nothing.

Again, I really don't see what I could be doing wrong. I've been building computers for over a decade with cooling setups that are much complicated and difficult to install than this. This is a brand-new wii, never messed with before...it works fine without the clip, and just won't read discs with the clip. I've reseated the clip multiple times, using even pressure and can definitely feel it click/snap onto the cpu underneath...it's nearly flush with the PCB at every angle. At this point, all I can think of is either the chip is defective or it's incompatible with my wii. Again, it's just a G2C D2C though.

Yeah from looks of it, very well might have a defective chip and/or clip. Unless you had a D2E it should be working. How long ago did you get the wii?

Try contacting support http://www.ozmodchips.com/contact_us.html

Don't say alot in the initial support email as it cuts off after so many characters. The email is [email protected] , but I would first contact through the form and wait for reply before give the full story or just link to this thread.

Hey phoresis. Would you mind telling me what dvd burner you have as in the actual dvd burner that you are burning your backup's? I am having a similar issue as your's where the wii doesn't read any burned backups whether its gamecube or wii backup's. It only reads the d2pro9 utility disc and the original wii sports with the wii clip on.
