Short story long:

I wanted to get some sprites from a game,
I Look up NDS sprite ripping program, I get recommended Apicula, and I then download it.
I decide to use this one rom of Go Go Cosmo Cops I downloaded a while ago to test the program, and I find This:

kirby.png

…Under the incredibly unassuming filename of "player.nsbmd"

Now, I did download this GGCC rom from the web, so someone could have put that there to troll me specifically, but I have no way of knowing either way, so I'm asking here to see if anyone's got the time to corroborate if this is actually in in the O.G. game's rom

This is not that uncommon, Ocarina of Time has an Arwing from Star Fox 64 within its files, and it's even possible to make it appear in the game with hacks, there's also a Tiger Woods game with a South Park episode included in the disc for some reason, and F-Zero GX includes F-Zero AX, which can be accessed with a cheat code. The easiest way to check if that Kirby model is part of the original game is to compare the hashes of your rom with these:

CRC32: 5918c517
MD5: 04cd51a8dfd0bc8ccbd65d51ef0f6a1a
SHA-1: 570917172a82a0d8b6e9b556e7c00766da65fc70
SHA-256: 1592bf672e07b734d96b466a17ada6eaefbb8039771444f673ec27d651d1e4ae

if they match then your rom is a legit unmodified copy, if not its either a different but still unmodified dump, or the Kirby model was put there by whoever uploaded the rom online, thus changing the hashes.
