Hey guys. Working on a new translation for draglade 2, since I haven't seen anyone submit a release or anything.
I managed to reliably translate the intro cutscene and the cutscene after that (beat meeting Hibito and they register).
HUGE DISCLAIMER: This patch is heavily, and when I say heavily, I mean HEAVILYassisted by AI. I'm just a dumb overwhelmed med student with almost no knowledge in programming. I received a few pointer to lead me in the right direction by my very busy friend deathkill781. the translations are manual for the most part. I'm happy with the results. hope to deliver more very very soon. here are a few screen shots of it in action.
another thing to note, there are some text boxes with overlapping lines that I am too tired to iron out right now, but they're a really easy fix. the japanese in the second screenshot is because that's beat's default name when you name him and I didn't change it when I started the save.
here's the link to the ups patch. enjoy. will update sooner than you think. like maybe wednesday or thursday.

Hey guys I got caught up in translating so much that I completely forgot about uploading another release. I'll put one up tomorrow once I finish translating the tutorial. look forward to that.

hey guys. sorry for no update. I finished translating the tutorial, but for some reason, the AI I'm using broke a function in the tutorial, and it's being very difficult at finding out what the problem is. I've been fighting it since yesterday morning. that's why I haven't made an upload yet.

Hello everyone! new update!
I fully translated the main menu (save maybe for a couple entries I may have neglected) and the entire DS along with the Deck Customization and GNN UIs (the messages are yet to be translated).
I also translated the Title! Check this shiz out!

Not much in terms of content, I know, but this took a lot of effort, believe me.
Here's the link.
Enjoy!
P.S. Working on UI is really tough and there's too friggin much of it. I might just focus on translating all the scripted text before I move back to translating graphic text.
Double P.S Glap tutorial has a problem. I don't know why the L at the end has a problem loading in correctly. please ignore it until I figure it out.

I honestly don't understand why Draglade 2 is now getting another translation. There is a project that is obviously being continued and is about to be finished. Why didn't you look for it first and write to me? Then you would like to help me finish this project. Instead there is a translation like this... I think you had very little to do with Draglade, right? The title screen definitely doesn't have the style that its predecessor had. It also looks like the writing was simply placed on top of the old writing. You can see it clearly in the picture between the D and E at the top corner.

Maybe it was also made with AI. The menu graphics are poor and not in Draglade's style.
Glap tutorial has a problem.
And here you can see that you don't know Draglade. It's Grap. An AI doesn't know that and you probably don't either.
more than one fan translation of a game can exist.
Yes, that's right. But there is a difference between a fan translation and a release that looks like a localization. Yours is definitely a fan translation. I tried to make it seem like it was localized back then. I've been working on this since October. I find it a bit disrespectful to start another translation that doesn't look good at the moment and to publish it when one is finishing at the same time. I'm sorry, but the translation seems very half-hearted to me.

I really don't know where the idea of wanting to retranslate this game, which had 3 translation projects, came from. This is the 4th project. I'm a bit shocked myself by the state of this translation...
I don't mean any harm, but this translation cannot remain as it is.

Hello my friend, I really appreciate the work you're doing. I'm just doing this as my own personal project on the side, nothing to shadow over yours or anything, really. yes, the title was placed on top of the old title, there were discrepancies in the other letters, but I removed them. I missed the last two letters. my bad. I know the menu graphics are poor, I have them as placeholder pretty much. I am not claiming my translation is superior in any way shape or form, I really kinda look up to actual translators with actual knowledge in this stuff, including you. And no, it's not Grap, at least not in this game. I have no idea about the first game, but if the game UI is anything to go by, then it's Glap. I was translating it as Grap at first, but after actually playing the game, I came to the realization. I swear I didn't pull it out of my ass.

As for the stuff about translation vs localization, I'm doing my darn best here, man. There's no need for this downplaying of my project like that and saying it looks bad and all. It's just hurtful. I'm trying to achieve localization results too, and I was planning to revamp graphics and stuff when I'm done witht he actual translation of things. this is still very much a work in progress and I'm constantly changing things.
As for the amount of already existing translation projects, yours is the only one I'm aware of. I'm sorry if it was disrespectful to start an entirely separate project. My intention is honest and I never meant to overshadow you in any measure, I swear. If you want me to drop the project alltogether, I'll do it. I love the work you're doing. I didn't mean anything by this. I'd love to take you up on that first offer of helping you with the project, but I'm really no help when it comes to technical stuff and programming, my friends are the geniuses in that department.
sorry to disturb.
thanks for your reply.

No, it’s definitely "Grap." If you look at the start of a match in the previous game in Japanese, it says "Glap, Set...", but the localization (the official English translation) used "Grap, Set..." instead. I’m sorry if I came across a bit harsh, but I’ve been working on this for months, and you were the first to release a version of the story mode-one that, unfortunately, wasn't translated quite correctly. You’re welcome to keep working on your translation, but I’d appreciate it if you could take your patch down until I’ve finished mine. Would that be possible and okay with you?
Also, I noticed something in your translation that differs from mine. I ran into a specific limit that you didn't seem to encounter, and I’m curious how you managed that. I’ll send you a PM
