I brought a special 3DSXL motherboard from 2nd hand store, seller said it is development 3DSXL and the charge port is different with market one, seems able to data transfer.

i brought this mb,and tried to power on it,but seems no further progress.

With fully charged battery installed, the motherboard charge light will be on for seconds, then it will be off finally, and no respond if pressed power on.

i am seeking any possibilities if able to bring this mb back to life, and wanna to know its background as well.

did some study on the mother board, the motherboard printed as SPR(02)-01:
The retail display model, this model is largely the same as the retail model, except the usual WAP-002 charger port has been swapped with a Micro HDMI Type-D port. Additionally, the system will not boot up unless connected to power adapter, presumably to stop vandals from stealing them from shops.

it seems if connect to power, this mb may back to life, and may there is some possibility way to make it happen?

it seems that this mother board would be successfully boot, use the fully charged battery and wire TP4 to groud acting as power on. while waiting hdmi micro port (Type D)arrival,it would be very interesting if the original 3DSXL would directly output to monitor or screen.

Do you have better photos of the shell? What makes you think this is a dev 3ds? The shell itself should have stickers/markings indicating as such

This looks like someone just replaced the charge port with a more standard one which is non trivial to do. A paid shops to replace all of mine with USB C

it comes with mb only, the current shell is my spare parts just for testing, and try to power on it

I remember someone once posted a hardmodded unit with a port that could apparently be used to dump the NAND, but in that case the port was separate from the charging port.

As this point it seems hugely unlikely that you've found the first motherboard somehow capable of data transfer through the charging port.
