Hello!

The Wii was working perfectly fine before expect it didn't read any discs, this was like a 12 year old problem, so I bought another drive, but once I connected it to the TV no image appears on it, it's a completely black screen, also there's some behaviour with the DVD drive too, so right now these are the issues and probably the rest are due the first one:
  1. Wii doesn't show any screen at all, I didn't interact with any other areas of the Wii that weren't the ones needed to replace the DVD drive, I followed the IFixIt guide. The led on the Wii is green when its turned on and the DVD drive blinks blue.
  2. The console can be turned on with a Wii controller so i think we can discard the bluetooth thingy not working
  3. Control doesn't sync when the green light is on, it only works for turning on the console
  4. The DVD made the startup sounds every time I turned it on.
  5. When I inserted a DVD, it swallowed perfectly fine, but I didn't heard the drive spinning at all.
  6. When I restarted the Wii with the DVD inside, the drive didn't make any sound.
  7. If I press Eject the DVD doesn't come out, if I press Eject while the Wii is on standby mode, it turns on but doesn't eject the DVD
  8. Same thing happens if I connect the old DVD drive
What I'm thinking is that the Wii is not loading the SO for some reason that's why the DVD doesn't do anything and why the screen is black, so I'm wondering if there was something nearby that I could have disconnected that made the Wii behave like this

Any help is pretty much appreciated.

It seems like the most likely fault is a bad bluetooth module, or the bluetooth module is not connected properly. Take the faceplate off and make sure the BT module is in place properly.

That was I was planning to do when I get back home, but if I can turn on the console with the synced Wiimote wouldn't that mean that the module is OK?

a bad wifi module would also show the same symptoms, "blackscreen"
Are they not on the same module?

Not necessarily.

OK, thanks

Thanks, I'll check both

It's going to be weird if it's any of that because I didn't touch anything else, but well, shit happens

Seems like an issue with the system menu or the system menu crashed, because u can't always sync your wii remotes but in the "main screen" of the system menu it should be possible.

I have heard that the wii can show black screen if there is an issue with the disc drive.

Do u mean the WiiConnect24 standby (orange LED) or the normal one (red LED)? On WC24 standby, the disc should be ejected without turning the wii on, on red ones it should turn on, eject the disc and turn it off and it is handled by the system menu. Mine for some reason doesn't so it might be because mine is newer RVL-001.

Edit:
U should be able to use wiimote in priiloader if it is a wifi brick and in hbc, the wifi icon will blinks the whole time.
Otherwise itt is a bluetooth module brick.
