I have opened my dsi several times but this time I had to disassemble the back plate completely in order to replace L and R buttons ribbon cable. And after that I could not fit in it's housing, I did close the housing but there was pressure in the middle of the back plate, a small mark appeared on the bottom screen due to this pressure and the pad with buttons bulged. When it is unscrewed it has a huge gap between the upper and the backplate. I reassembled it with old ribbon cable but the problem remains! I teardown the upper, checked is the bottom screen sits right, reassembled the back plate 10 times but nothing solves my problem. It is definitely hidden in the backplate but I just don't know how and where I could make a mistake since there's not mutch parts on the backplate. I took out out all the parts from the backplate and without them it closes as it should.

I humbly ask you for help because I think I'm desperate to solve this after 2 days. I carefully watched videos with shell replacements and guides and It seems like a some conjury or something to me. Call me whatever you like and it will be true cause I feel like I'm the dumbest man to ever hold ndsi

Last edited by JosephLorn,
Maybe the ribbon cable should be secured.
Use double-sided tape to stick the ribbon cable onto the lower case.

Well, I guess that was the problem. I carefully placed the cable and secured it with tape and got better, at least I can close the shell. But the thing is it closes not as smooth and firmly as it was before and there's still some resistance.
