I've yet to find a single installer that allows me to install via USB successfully. Considering that there are games bigger than the 4gb size limit for fat32 now, that's kind of a problem. And actively keeping me from being able to transfer games.

I use Awoo installer, and NS-USBloader. Every once a while (1/50 times) Awoo will pop an error and not install a file, but just exit and do it again, and will install no problem. Good luck.

Wasn't so much the awoo installer being as much the issue, as it was that I failed to see that I needed that NS-USBloader running on the pc.

While being able to transfer over the LAN is an avenue of convenience, it was just nice how DBI allowed me to just plug in by usb and with its own MTP, see the contents and drag and drop, quite a bit faster. But now because of new firmware, i cant even launch my old version of it.

Firstly it needs new prod.keys file dumped from Lockpick_RCM FW21 compatible as minimum

What about the advice of the author, I guess it is not serious but any way now the app use a external file so it is less modified at all

Months later, I still have some games that fail to install when trimmed, but that install perfectly fine when not trimmed ( octopath traveler 0, metroid prime 4 for example).
Do you know what could cause this?
I have the same issue with the original russian version.

yeah, same results
it still fail to install

I tried trimming the original xci file with both XCI Cutter and Switch Backup Manager
Both output the exact same trimmed file, failing to install

Are you sure it is correct trimmed? What tool are you using for trimming? Are you aware that even trimmed xci should be aligned to sector bound?

Use original python script from original distrubution!

That bug with dbibackend and trimmed xci was fixed ages ago.

I do use Dbi Backend QT indeed.
Thanks for the information, do you have a link where I could find the python file?
I heard the rashevskyv's repo is not yours and anyways it doesn't include the python build.

I tried using the dbibackend here here, adding .py extension
I installed > pip install pyusb

But It doesn't fail to install, it just get stuck instead
