Fucking Finally...

I got my laminated IPS kit for my Game Boy Pocket yesterday. I installed it, and it looks great. I also removed the audio amp and changed the caps on the Pocket with some tantalums. I thought the audio cap was bad because the audio was extremely low, but it turns out I didn't solder one of the connections on the amp. When the new speaker comes in, I'll remove the Kapton tape from the front. If it weren't a clear shell, I would have just left it. It was just to hold down the wire, so I might just use some clear tape.

My FNIRSI DWS-200 soldering iron came today. It works great. It's so much easier to change bits when I need to. Please ignore the dirty area where it is. It's my spray booth where I airbrush, I use it like a fume extractor. I've been trying to find a metallic one that's bigger than the plastic one I currently have, mainly because a metal one is a lot easier to clean.

You can probably use one of those cart adapters that hangs a second cart horizontally off the back to use its correct-region lockout chip (am not certain what works on SFC tbh). Without installing a switch, pal games would play at 60Hz, but that might be good for ones that aren't optimised.
That'll work, of course. But playing PAL games on an NTSC system, some games will have extra checks such as the refresh rate and the CIC installed within the console, which will require extra internal modifications to defeat. For now, I'll probably stick to my EverDrive anyways since it can do both regions and has patches to disable anti-piracy checks, and every now and then play my NTSC-U & NTSC-J carts (least games from those regions don't run slightly slower).

My new power/audio cables for my Game Gear arrived today. I had to modify the audio cable because it came with an extra pin. Basically, I just cut it off and soldered it to the board. I managed to get that stereo audio board I bought to work. I also had to cut up its header connector because they used the wrong one on it and plugged the cable in backward. Audio is clean and a lot louder, but I'm using it in mono mode for now.

Bit more home audio equipment - WiiM Ultra streamer. Basically got it for ease of streaming Tidal and as I write I'm redigitizing the parts of my CD collection I don't have in vinyl and setting up Gerbera+Postgres on my home server... If things can escalate, they do escalate.

The popcorn vendor came to my work today. So I got 3 small bags of popcorn: 1 salted caramel, 1 Frootie Tootie (I'm going to guess something like Fruit Loops), and 1 chocolate strawberry delight. I also saw that they were selling those pink-colored vanilla popcorn, so I bought a big bag of that for my sister and her kids. Altogether, I spent $27 on popcorn.

Lol, the vendor was happy.

I've got to say that the pink vanilla popcorn smells amazing.

Probably the Sony or the tv on the bottom. I see the RGB in front. Lots of CRTs have just the yellow input with mono audio and RF

Yes the one on the bottom is a samsung with stereo RGB on the front. the sony is a black one I didn't catch the model.

Tomorrow I will go in a less «appealing» motorcycle to be able to stay more time and do not get attention of «bad guys» and look careful the TVs.

I was attonished by the price. almost the same price of a remote ha ha ha

Nice. You can't go wrong with Samsung or Sony (if Sony has stereo RGB)
It boils down to what size TV you want at home.
$20 is a steal!
