Just got my first 3DS! Where do I begin with the modern scene?

Hallo everyone! A friend of mine gifted me his Polar White O3DS, and sincerely don't know what to do, I know about CFW but I don't know where to start...
(For those who don't know me, I never owned a console, less alone a 3DS)

So, If anyone knows an idiot-proof way to mod my 3DS, please tell me, also the 3DS came without an SD Card, which I thought was normal, but then I realized what the SD card did and I was like:
Ohhh... Im super screwed, this thing uses an SD card for everything!

It's on 11.17.0-50U, and like I said, I don't understand anything...

MSET9?
ntrboot?
Hardmod?

Any help will be welcomed! :3

The only methods I see have complex steps, and with my clear deficiency in understanding English...

I mean I understand the MSET9 process, but I'm afraid of doing something wrong and damaging it.

that guide is the best one out there and the only one you should be following. it's made to be as user-friendly as possible, and it's extremely difficult to permanently mess anything up if you follow it. just double check you're not skipping any steps as you go. people with less skill than you have pulled it off, i believe in you

I understand that using a DS flashcard is one of the options for modding the 3DS, but I don't understand why you'd use it for games if you can jailbreak the 3DS and run Twilight Menu instead, which seems promising.

I see the guide isn't in Russian, so it's a bit difficult since Google Translate tends to mess up the meaning of some words.

Just a non complex option. I have multiple devices and like the convenience of using flashcarts between them
