If you think it's a troll you should not answer at all. But I believe it just a silly question person. I saw a lot of those on reddit.1. There is no homebrew for Switch 2.
2. There likely will never be homebrew for Switch 2 as it won't be hacked for a decade or two at least.
3. Homebrew written for the Switch 2 hardware by nature could not run on a Switch 1.
4. No, Mario Kart World could not possibly run on a Switch 1. It's CPU and memory absolutely cannot handle the open world nor the seemless transistions between areas, nor the 24 players. Period. Do not even try to suggest otherwise..
5. If you believe GameCube NSO is a scam, then don't purchase it. It's obviously not a scam, and calling that shows that you are either a troll or one of those clowns that constantly calls Nintendo "greedy" for not selling it's AAA games for $4.99 and for not selling their consoles at a $200 loss, and calls them "evil" for defending their IP. #childish
"With the absurd prices and anti-consumer practices of the Switch 2, I won't be getting that console."
6. Since there are so many of you here who cannot adjust prices for inflation because they were never taught, note that $60 for a Switch 1 game in 2017 (like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe) is EXACTLY the same price as $80 for a Switch 2 game in June 2025 (like Mario Kart World). It is mindblowing how many streamers, so-called journalists and gamerboys can't do this simple math and learn not to incessantly whine about Nintendo actually not raising game prices over 2017 at all. It's embarrassing and needs to stop. The $299 price of the Switch 1, by the way, is the same as $400 in June 2025 dollars. Meaning that you are getting the bigger screen, 8 times the storage which happens to be much faster, the dock with a fan, etc. for only $50 more than the Switch 1. Again, so embarrassed for gamers seeing them whine about the price!!!
7. There are ZERO anti-consumer practices on the Switch 2, so you are now free to buy one.
I spent a LOT more time on this troll than I should have, but with so many others replying I had to chime in.
Damn, is that true? o_o2. There likely will never be homebrew for Switch 2 as it won't be hacked for a decade or two at least.
Source: he made it up. Current ETA is who the heck knows. Could be a week. Could be neverDamn, is that true? o_o
Any reason why that time frame is considered? I mean, in the past, the "unhackable" consoles got hacked after a few years, a decade sounds insane

More likely a bunch of Chinese dudes will create a custom firmware and sell a license for it.I imagine the first useful kernel homebrew entrypoint will be kept private for reverse-engineering and dumping Switch 2 game cards, which when disassembled will reveal how the Switch 2 does it's system calls, which will be used to eventually create a virtualization of those syscalls for the purposes of emulating the Switch 2 OS, a year or 2 after which the exploit will be patched, and the exploit will be public knowledge. It will be used to find other exploits, which will be kept private for the most part until Switch 2 EOL, and eventually we'll get a modchip and a CFW, with eventual cheats and telemetry blocking.
Estimated, this will take about a year for the first exploit, then 2 more for the second, and 2 or 3 more for the modchip and CFW, and another year or 2 for everything else. Also, expect a kernel exploit for the Switch to be unveiled that needs applied on every boot to enable homebrew and such (but not full CFW or cheats) around the beginning of next year, as Switch will be approaching EOL at that point as no new first party games will be developed.
Because the switch 1 never got a softmod, a lot of people are making the false assumption that the reason for that is because the switch 1 security is so tight.Damn, is that true? o_o

I know they were controversial but I liked sxos. Did external xci storage ever come to atmosphere?More likely a bunch of Chinese dudes will create a custom firmware and sell a license for it.
Bring on SXOS 2!!!
He educated himself on the Switch hacking history. In short, the hacks being used on the Switch are due to Nvidia's hardware, not Nintendo's software. The software has be thoroughly analyzed and it's been determined that there are no vulnerabilities at this time. Nvidia has most certainly made sure that the same flaw that plagues the Switch is not repeated on the Switch 2 and Nintendo is using the same software on the Switch 2. Hence, those that understand what really goes into hacking a piece of closed source hardware & software package are not anticipating a hack or homebrew anytime soon.Damn, is that true? o_o

Nope. Cus it would be illegal. SXOS used Nintendos code or SDK or some mumbo jumbo to enable that which would not be legally allowed in atmosphere.I know they were controversial but I liked sxos. Did external xci storage ever come to atmosphere?
Yes, but only if you really believe in it!im sure mario kart world could run on switch 1 hardware, the game looks like mario kart 8 in high res..
Sunshine was fully emulated, Galaxy was only partially, if I'm not mistaken (which I might be)It was only partially emulated. Iirc it was something along the lines of all the gpu calls were emulated, but the CPU instructions were ported (or vice versa. One of the two for sure).
It's a whole lot easier to optimize when you only need to run one game. You can throw out (or skip implementing) anything that game doesn't need and write speedhacks specifically for that one game that would break other games. But that technique isn't much use when you need a general purpose emulator.Again, what about the example of Super Mario Sunshine on 3D All-Stars?
Atmosphere devs want nothing to do with warez loaders.I know they were controversial but I liked sxos. Did external xci storage ever come to atmosphere?
Sunshine was partially ported, Galaxy was mostly recompiled (tcrf).Sunshine was fully emulated, Galaxy was only partially, if I'm not mistaken (which I might be)
thats not true... there has been nereba / pegaswitch / nspwn / fakenews (if you dont count the rcm as softmod)Because the switch 1 never got a softmod, a lot of people are making the false assumption that the reason for that is because the switch 1 security is so tight.

Some Switch 2 exclusive games run on OG Switch with game share, such as Donkey Kong Bananza.Honest question. Has there EVER been ANY game console at all in history which had "forwards compatibility"? Because I really don't think that any of it is possible.
Huh, that's quite interesting to be fairSome Switch 2 exclusive games run on OG Switch with game share, such as Donkey Kong Bananza.
Many DSiware titles are able to run on original DS with nds-bootstrap (list: https://github.com/DS-Homebrew/TWiLightMenu/blob/master/universal/include/compatibleDSiWareMap.h)

I meant mostly the DSiWare part, actually. I know that Gameshare works via streaming. There seems to be a misunderstanding here.
Switch 1 does not run Switch 2 games.
Gameshare simply streams the game from Switch 2 to Switch 1 and processes the button inputs from Switch 1, but everything runs on Switch 2.
