That might actually be the garbage ad provider they're using. It's doing forced redirects and other scummy shit.
Yep happens often to me on my tablet, not much on PC though. It won't even let me check the box on tablet, keeps refreshing back to that screen every-time I click the box. Only way I've found it to work on tablet is to open gbatemp on a "Private Tab".This is not brand-new news, it has happened just over a year ago.

If it's working better in a private tab, chances are you need to clear the cookies and your cache in your browser.
VPN is the only way to go. even though im not doign anything nefarious i prefer privacy. anonymous proxies, dsns, vpn you gotta put up a united front to not be classified and judged by the data collectors
cloudflare is the evil bro. they are collecting info on all the ignorant. there are tons of sites that get targeted 100% of the time that arent using cloudflare. al jazeera news gets trillions of attacks along with many other sites that people dont like. they dont use cloudflare.
Maybe post this in a thread relevant to site support or ads instead of a random Cloudflare one then?
