Nintendo will be featuring a second Nintendo Direct focusing on The Super Mario Galaxy Movie

A Nintendo Direct is happening soon, dedicated solely to the upcoming The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. The Direct will offer a look at Illumination's second Super Mario movie, which is nearing its release later this year, on April 3rd. This will be the second Direct for the film, as a trailer revealing Rosalina and Bowser Jr. was broadcast back in November. The Direct livestream will kick off on Sunday, January 25, at 6am PT/9am ET.

Three inconsistencies:

- I don't use fans; I use fists.

- It was the muay thai fighter that cried; gave him a little kick to the ribs and he started crying unexpectedly.

- These don't sweat:

I only watched one movie on premiere day because it was free: Star Wars Episode II.

If it was up to me, I would just remove the combat sports popularity slop, so...I did. It lost a lot of power and popularity.

Why do you wish to reply? Are you upset that I KO'd the best of MMA easily in one shot, or was it the USSR math problem I solved and explained in under two minutes on the first attempt? Brains or Brawn, the devil loses both ways. Funny!

But...if this is actually about the car comments earlier, that's even more funny!
That's like 2 strokes in one sentence, i ain't reading all that, i'm happy for you though, or sorry for your loss.

So, let me get this straight...

Instead of announcing something about Splatoon Raiders, a game that was announced a long time ago with no extra information provided since the announcement, Nintendo instead chooses to make a whole Direct about a second movie trailer?
I'm honestly tired of Splatoon, Nintendo needs to release a new F-Zero or Wave Race game.

Hell, I'd be interested in a new ARMS game. Could be fun, especially if it'd have a 2D Mode.

DLC for a mediocre game that looks so much worse than NSMB, has nonsensical Wonder Flower mechanics that make me ask if it's a psychedelic allegory, and has an enormously bloated cast of PCs (really should have been just Mario and Luigi, maybe two Toads if 4-player is really all that important; did not need the multiple different Yoshi colours, Toadette, Peach, Daisy, or Nabbit, or Rosalina), and completely misused Bowser as a villain.
Greeeat. Hard pass, just like this movie.
Which NSMB are you comparing it to? The original, NSMBW, NSMB2, NSMBU, NSLU or NSMBUD?

I'm quite happy with the victory, and it was one stroke via kick to his ribs

Corporate doomers be damned, I am very excited for this movie. I had fun with the last one, and am looking forward to seeing my favorite Mario game on the big screen.
Same, I'm excited too. And I fully embrace the identity of the movies of trying to represent as much different games as possible in a fun and spontaneous way.

...That being said though, I do have a fanboy rant to make:

There are parts in the trailer I wish it felt more Mario. Like, why the fuck is there an actual dinosaur in a Mario movie? You wanna include them that's fine, but I'd expect something more akin to what you would see in Super Mario World: Just Keef Edition. Having a real world one feels like a throwback to the 90's movie at best, but I know this is because of Mario Odyssey, a game that in my opinion did irreparable damage to the franchise by mixing real world looking things with the Mario universe.

Why are Mario and Luigi riding with bikes and gear in a empty desert? Shouldn't they be going through obstacle courses like in their games? I could say the same for a montage in the first movie that shows them just going through a long walk through various places with nothing in them.

The first movie implies we only see the iconic Mario bricks and "?" blocks around Peach's castle or the Kong kingdom because the Toads build them there for practical purposes, which felt like overexplaining videogame rules to me.

Oh and I can't wait for more out-of-place 80's songs too, my dad will sure love those 😩

"Irreparable damage"

You're funny. 🤣

Mario Odyssey was awesome and hopefully they're working on Mario Odyssey 2.
I won't deny it was a critical and financial success, and even though the game wasn't my cup of tea I do get the appeal and respect others' taste.

The "irreparable damage" thing I mean specifically the theme of explicitly mixing real world with Mario. Now I see real humans even in Mario Golf and Donkey Kong Bananza. They could have very well used stylized humans as the franchise has done before, but they didn't. I don't expect the Mario universe to have the most rigid set of rules but I do wish for the bare minimum of consistency when it comes to visual style.

That too is a matter of taste though so if you feel different that's fine.

I mean, yeah, it'd be cool if Nintendo did something with those IPs, but keep in mind that Splatoon Raiders was already announced, so I think it's more reasonable to expect more news about that.

they have since iwata died he took everything that was good in that company with him. now it's just a soulless money grubby company run by an evil businessman
We've got Nintendo MIcrosoft and Sony 3 vampires. But it's certainly not exclusive to only video games either.

Where are you now, Santa Claus? err.... I mean God.

I wonder if Nintendo branching out into being a media juggernaut instead of just a game juggernaut will mean the games will look and feel even more cinematic soon, to make them feel more like movies. That would surely be a good thing. The old guard at Nintendo will be dead or retired soon. Strange times.

How sick will it be if they release SMG3 alongside the move
That's my first thought, how could they not have SMG3 up their sleeves. Even though they said the movie was the main content for the Mario anniversary, I mean maybe they lied when they said that.
