Hello, I've followed the guide to apply the widescreen patch for DS game, and it works when I launch the game through Twilight Menu, but when I do so through NDSForwarder it just stretches the screen. I've attached 2 images below showcasing the issue, one is after launching through TwilightMenu, and the other from the forwarder. Does anyone know how to solve this? Thanks.
I don’t know this for sure, but I think it’s maybe because you set up the forwarder before you applied the widescreen patch. The forward keeps previous config. I’m working thru a similar issue right now where I want the game to run in DSi mode, but my forwarder keeps launching in DS mode. I think you need to recreate the forwarder. Not positive tho.
Did anyone ever find a fix for this? Having the exact same issue but only with my HeartGold Forwarder from YANBF. Other forwarders I made after applying the widescreen patch seem to work fine. I tried remaking the forwarder for HG and still no luck. Next I will try to fresh install ntr-forwarder.

@RocketRobz After thorough testing, I believe something in the ntr-forwarder is causing HeartGold to not run in Widescreen. When setting is turned to "on", "default" or "off", no stretching of any kind happens. When set to "forced", the artificial stretch as the OP posted above occurs.
Patched correctly, setting turned on in ntr menu, all steps clean. Super Mario 64 works, but HeartGold using the exact same steps does not. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Posting here as I don't see a bug report/issues page on the GitHub

Make sure you have the "widescreen.pck" file from the latest TWLMenu++ version or that the latest TWLMenu++ version is installed.
Otherwise, idk why widescreen won't work for that game.

widescreen.pck in the "extras" folder is up-to-date. TWLMenu++ is also up-to-date. Will keep trying things out. Widescreen is still working when launched through TWLMenu++, just not when through ntr-forwarder.

Forwarded another Pokemon game, Platinum. Same issue. Super Mario 64 is the only game succesfully running in widescreen through ntr-forwarder. HeartGold and Platinum, no luck.
If it's of any significance, both Pokemon games were from a newer SDK version (4.2), while SM64 is from a much older version (~2.0)

I was thinking the same. When I did the widescreen on my 3ds recently, I thought it just looked stretched. Before I remember it you being able to see more of the image on the screen.
