Pokemon Legends: Z-A has leaked a few days before launch

Just a handful of days ahead of launch, Pokemon Legends: Z-A has leaked onto the internet. Pirated copies of the game are now available online, with screenshots of it being played on hacked Nintendo Switch units and emulators cropping up, while dataminers access all sorts of secrets within the files. Pokemon Legends: Z-A will launch officially on October 16th, for both the Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo Switch 2. As always, please remember that sharing warez is against the official GBAtemp ToS.

Even if this game didn't have first day DLC, even if wasn't overpriced... this game looks bad, they put less effort on it that in Arceus and doesn't even have regional variants. Also not only is content locked behind day one DLC, to unlock some Mega evolutions you literally have to pay to play online.

I'm 8 mins late reporting this!

Here I am just casually looking for an old game to play and I see this!

EDIT: my trusted rom site made a mistake uploading the game. The update and game has the same link. Guess I will have to wait a little longer.
Just a heads up, that's been fixed! So I'm told! ;)

My guess was almost correct. I guessed 5 days, it ended up being 4.

I will wait for the Switch 2 edition. I think this is one of those games that will really benefit from it.

This is the first Pokemon game I've actually been excited for since the 3DS. I really liked Legends Arceus. They better not fuck this up.

We don't take kindly to your kind here, game key card peddler.
Game Key Cards don't solve this with the current system either way. I had one delivered ~10 days early and I could still download the contents without issue. Admittedly they could restrict the downloading to launch day, but at the moment they don't.

But did it play? The way eShop preorders work is that they can be downloaded 2 weeks in advance but without the decryption keys there is literally nothing you can do with the files.

It did indeed:

You can always import from country that Nintendo have the game on the cart. This game is not a giant in size, only a giant in fan base.

Which country would that be? We have some Asia releases being Game Key Cards where western versions aren't (Daemon X Machina comes to mind). I can't think of a game that has an Asia release that's on cartridge where the western version isn't on the Switch 2. There are games like Fantasy Life that straight up don't have a western release that you can import, but not really the situation you've outlined.

If there are games I'm not aware of I would genuinely love to hear about them though. Give me hope lol

Sure, but Game Key Cards don't need the eShop. I can't actually find any concrete data as to whether they do work fine in regions that don't have the eShop, but given the number of "Asia" region releases that are Game Key Cards already, I'm not holding my breath for the physical releases we saw on the Switch 1.

You get the mario kart bundle in physical form for those country. The reason given is they don't have good internet there.
