I was going to stick with my Switch 1 Pro Controller until I tried a friend's Switch 2 Pro Controller and now I can't go back.

I don't particularly care for the back buttons [GL and GR], but the sticks feel so much better and the weight distribution is also much improved. Even the buttons and directional pad feel better, though that may be because my old one has been used a lot and no longer feels that good.

I'll wait until they come out with a Splatoon Raider edition, or until an eventual Splatoon 4 edition of the controller.

Literally didn't buy a Pro Controller until the Splatoon 3 edition came out.

I rarely use my Switch 2 so wouldn't bother buying a Pro Controller. However, I've bought a Switch 1 Pro Controller and a GCN-style shell so I'll get a guy to do that service for me.

Don't see the point of buying a NS2PC when the Nintendo games currently available are Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza, and MKW isn't even very fun. :/

I ended up buying the 8BitDo USB Wireless Adapter 2 for £15 and using my Xbox Controller. That's been a great alternative for me, I didn't really fancy spending £75 on another controller when I use the Switch more in handheld mode than I do docked.

I've slept on TV remotes, cell phones, even my iPad once. But never a controller. :rofl2:

That said, I've been desiring to get one for a while. I love my original Switch Pro Controller.

I wish the back paddles were optional. I’ll never use them that’s my main issue with the controller
Yeah, I hate that gimmick which even controllers on AliExpress copied, but thankfully not all.

Make that crap optional than permanent and it sure isn't a cheap controller.

I don't see much point in getting an official Pro Controller when there are alternatives which are cheaper and don't suffer from stick drift. The digital triggers also make it useless for PC.

Ummm... what's to hate about the grip buttons? Do you assume you'll hit them on accident and make a mistake in your game? You can disable those buttons entirely, if you like. Right in the quick settings (hold the home button for a couple of seconds during a game).

This thing may not have hall effect, but it feels really good in your hands, and other than a some strength to the centering spring, the analog sticks feel nearly frictionless. I'm loving mine. And I heard some people say as much in YouTube videos after the reveal. Bought mine day 1, even though I missed out on an NS2 on day 1.

Sidescrollers are unplayable but bro, it feels so smooth!

I don’t have those problems with the dpad.
Do you have actual own experience with the controller or are you just repeating what you hear from other people?

Watch the video, he did it with a second controller, same problem, here:

I've bought and returned 4 Switch Pro Controllers so you could say I have extensive experience in the matter.

Yes I'm aware you can win the lottery and get one with a good D-Pad (1 in 5 then it seems), I have one of the v1 Pro Controllers with a D-Pad which does not do what you see in the video above (character going left or right when pushing up or down).

But that is still BS, getting a working Pro Controller, whether v1 or v2 should not be a lottery, they should all work the same consistently. Videos like this one should not exist:
