this is a better alternative too your bending of the dstt cartridge.

what you need?

1. masking tape.

steps?

1. cover the logo side of your dstt cartridge with the masking tape. apply enough layers of masking tape so your dstt fits snug into the ds.

You son of a bitch! it wont come out

it will take some work to get it out..i get mines out with not too much force, but then again i only take it out once in a blue moon...thank god for its spring loadedness

i have a better tip:

pry open your ttds and take the circuit board out.

use a paint-stripper gun to heat the circuit board so all the solder starts melting.
Now wait for the circuit board to cool down and be careful not to touch it when its still hot, or all the components will fall off.

once its cooled down put the circuit board back in the casing and you will see its fully working!

Hopefully it goes without saying: DO NOT USE A PAINT STRIPPER GUN ON YOUR DSTT.

If your card isn't working, read this forum to rule out other causes such as human error, bad card reader, or bad microSD card. If you know for a fact your DSTT is bad, exchange it for a new one.

The bending solution can easily break your card. I think the best solution was to file down the plastic between the contacts using an X-acto knife, but that can also damage your card if you don't know what you're doing.

Here is the thread about that.
Here is another post about a solution that requires soldering / opening up the DSTT.

Masking tape or a piece of cardboard to help push the DSTT to make contact with the DS seems to be the easiest and least destructive solution next to exchanging it for a new one.

I would really appreciate it if anyone with this problem could report how well it works. I just ordered two DSTTs off of DealExtreme and didn't find out about the contacts problem until just now. I'd feel a lot better knowing that I could fix it with masking tape.
