I wasn't planning on putting together an individual setup for FBNEO, it was already part of the Hexaeco Mod pack and now added to the WFL plugins pack.
Only one core is worth using but does run a couple games better than anything else. I suppose i could make forwarder channels for Wii / vWii and create an install setup. Are you interested in this?
Hi, tried to run FBNeo from wiiflow but can't launch any Hexaeco core from it.
Tried it from HBC and no problem, but still haven't been able to save hiscores.
Since Hexaeco doesn't allow to save different remaps I can use depending on the controller (let's say SF" with wiimote, pad or arcade joystick) I think I'll still be using the regular fba cores.

Any chance to get FBNeo for 1.7.6 Retroarch?
Hexaeco has to be configured to work correctly through WiiFlow Lite, this has already been done for users if you download the WFL Plugins Pack. Meaning Hexaeco can have 2 separate setups with different cfg (through both HBC and WFL) , i have this setup for many years now. I could link my WFL setup structure but honestly the WFL plugins pack is my setup i have shared and maintained, you would be much better to download the pack.
HiScores work for MAME 2003 Plus cores, the hiscore.dat must be installed in...
SD:/private/ARMOD/system/mame2003-plus folder.
Remap input does work for each individual Hexaeco core but individual game remaps do not. RA is superior allowing individual game remaps.........
EDIT: After testing more, the FBNEO core does indeed allow individual "Per-Game Config" testing on 4 separate Forgotten Worlds roms and also daimakai.zip, ffight.zip roms. It allows Per-Core Config as well. This is exceptional for those who want to use dedicated game overlays/bezels instead of using a universal overlay for all games.
Compiling for 1.7.6 is beyond my knowledge. @SaulFabre mentioned, the FBNEO core was modified to only include certain drivers to be playable since the core is too large/heavy for Wii ram to cope.
Try hiscores.dat in the folder previously mentioned, if it still isn't working for you PM me and i'll try to assist. Same for WFL setup, PM me if you are still having issues.

So i have started making overlays for this project using @dmdgc overlay art. The art is beautiful but will be downgraded for Wii use. These overlays will work with "Hexaeco" FBNEO, FBA Cave., CPS1, CPS2, NEO.
After the adjustments and edits to downgrade the art, i still think these overlays look great on my screen.
I will make forwarder channels and a stand-alone setup for SuperrSonic Hexaeco FBNEO which will be finished by the weekend. I wish there were more art to use, (maybe i will create some original) since this art is so very well done.
If anyone has art to contribute, i would be more than happy to accommodate for overlays. For the channel, i will definitely have Carrier Air Wing and Forgotten Worlds as logos, Donpachi and/or DoDonpachi as logos also. Looking for suggestions for the rest (7) of the logos and intro music?
I included the FBNEO-CPS1 core along with the main FBNEO core. The CPS1 core only plays 3 games but Cadillacs & Dinosaurs needs this core, so it was indeed added. I also updated and added the compatibility list with the setup download.
Attached is my complete pack of Wii Arcade compatibility lists updated...
In the limited testing i have done, this release fixes many things.
So far...MAME 2000 is playing multiple games in same session without any issues. Flashback (REminiscence) is finally working 100% with save/load, this core has Never worked out of the box so it is clear there was some effort put into this. GCE Vectrex still requires Classic controller but the backwards input issue has been fixed, and this core now supports Overlays. Intellivision (FreeIntv) and ZX Spectrum (Fuse) input has been fixed as well but still require CC. I'm guessing/hoping Theodore, TIC-80, Sharp X, LowRes input has also been fixed but have not tested these yet. Again, it is clear there was effort put into the 1.20.0 Wii release.
Both Genesis cores are still broken and GearBoy is still unstable but so far most problem cores i have tested have improvements.
C64 Vice cores are all still broken as expected. I think this may never change unfortunately.
Gambatte and FCEUmm are both not usable. These cores have failed for far too long, i do not expect either to be fixed.
There is good news but i will wait to post until i am finished testing...
hello
what version of retroarch do you recommend? i have tried latest version (1.20) but it's very buggy: 50% of the time I load a game everything crashes and I have to turn off the Wii by holding down the power button. it's frustrating!
I would like to play A2600,GB,GBA,NES,SNES, GENESIS,MAME, C64 (but Frodo sucks and vice doesnt work)

THANKS!
I noticed that mame2003plus core has 16 coreswhy? when I load a game how do I know which core to use?
For 80's and early 90's arcade games which is the best core? mame2003 or fbalpha2012?
EDIT:
however this retroarch is really excellent, I did some tests with different cores and it never crashes. great work!

There's a reason why we have so many different split cores for MAME 2003 Plus (MAME2003+). The Wii is NOT a powerful console, and we only have a little RAM memory (24 MB MEM1+ 64 MB MEM2 = 88 MB of RAM), meaning that the entire MAME2003+ won't fit on Wii unless splitted.
Final Burn Alpha 2012 (FBA2012) exists on Wii for some arcade games which don't run or have problems on MAME2003+. I'd suggest to try the games you want on MAME2003+ first, and if it doesn't work, try using FBA2012 instead.
But remember, MAME2003+ and FBA2012 need different romsets, so this means you can't play MAME2003+ romsets on FBA2012, and viceversa (you can't play FBA2012 roms in MAME2003+).
To have an idea:
MAME2003+ cores expects romsets of MAME 2003 Plus and MAME 2003 (MAME 0.78)
FBA2012 core expects romsets of Final Burn Alpha 2012 v0.2.97.29
ok thanks for the in-depth explanation. I'm doing various tests and in fact mame2003 and fba2012 both work well. so far the ones I've tried on mame2003 have all worked. for cps1/2 and neogeo games fbalpha is better instead.
by the way: I noticed that the retroarch configurations are not saved on exit, for example I have to disable the bilinear filter every time. history is also not saved. maybe it's a bug caused because each core is from a different retroarch version...

I managed to set up the mGBA core to output proper SGB border resolution using this settings, and i really appreciate that all the cores save individual configuration files for RA settings, that's a blessing.
I am using the RA mGBA core for GB/GBC, ill see if i can output the same video settings for Gambatte, while i am sticking with standalone mGBA for gba

Another bad point, all NES cores had micro stutters, audio notably, please do not brush it off with ''werks4mii'', we know emulation on Wii its unpredictable.
So far, with this FrankenRetroArch, works fine for the following:
GameBoy/GBC - Either Gambatte or mGBA (video settings pictured above for SGB scaling)
Genesis & Master System - Picodrive (if you dont use hidden current build of Genesis Plus GX)
PC Engine /CD - Bettle PCE Fast
SNES - SNES9x Current so far
CPS1 - FBNeo CPS1
NES cores are faulty, SameBoy still doesnt work for me, havent tested the rest, nice having a RA that can save separate core configs tough including video scaling tough.

Forget about this, after performing some signal comparison with my WII and my real consoles, in this case, the SNES with SGB, i finally got it right
Left Corner - SNES with SGB
Center - RA Wii (Gambatte core)
Right - Merged for comparison
For now it only works with Bilinear, because last time when i de-activated it it when full screen and on RA there's shimmering even with the previous settings i calculated.
These settings are designed for the Gambatte and mGBA cores, on VBA GX you can automatically set up these dimensions in colored pillar boxed integer scaled, but when you load GB/SGB overlays it goes to bilinear even when its disabled.
