I'm seeing these ugly-ass things all over Vancouver Washington, but I do live just down the street from a Tesla dealership.
Yeah, might have something to do with your proximity to Tesla's dealership because I live in Vancouver Washington as well, just no where near the dealership, but I've only seen like 1, maybe 2, in the wild. I do see a lot of model 3s and the occasional model Y though

Yaeh, I'm over on 66th and Andresen, and I think at least one of them live near me. Saw one with a dark blue camo wrap as well a few weeks ago.

I haven't seen a Tesla dealership yet, but my neighbor has a Tesla and I see cyber trucks driving around. There are definitely tons of cyber trucks in Washington State.

lol, I think that's the one I saw actually. Can't remember the color quite, but it was some blue-ish color camo wrap on it

Maybe it's just where I live then. I technically live in Vancouver Washington, but in an unincorporated section that is an old neighborhood with lots of retired people. I work from home and the nearest grocery store is less than half a mile away so I'm not out and about on roads very much

I'm finding a bit of bias here, TC, given some of the existing posts in this thread.

For those that didn't see it, it was an image with an explanation of how water can get into the frame of the Cybertrucks, shorting the wires, and the reason why your warranty is voided when going through a carwash with it.

View attachment 467802
Taking it through a car wash does not void the warranty by itself. Damage caused by failing to make sure all ports are closed (ie selecting car wash mode) before going in a car wash isn't covered by the warranty as it's considered user error.

Car Wash Mode on a Tesla (which is what a Cybertruck is) does the following:

Closes all of the car's windows
Locks its charge port
Disables functions including the rain-sensing wipers, walk-away door locking, parking-sensor chimes, and Tesla's Sentry Mode

None of that is related to the kind of damage happening with Cybertrucks as was shown.

I'm just telling you what's in the actual tesla manual regarding car wash and warranty.

In that case it seems they can't void your warranty unless you don't engage that

So seems like it's another disingenuous claim - which is really common because people are looking for reasons to hate Musk

I still remember when Tesla was the darling of most of these leftist spaces, and now you only ever see hit pieces in the media
That was before Musk became a ketamine addict who drove his entire family away. He was at least intelligent enough to keep his mouth shut back then and let his PR team shape his image for him. Calling that rescue diver a pedophile was the beginning of the end, once he started running his own social media accounts his stupidity and undeserved sense of superiority became undeniable.

As a foreign observer, I have to say the current American left seems pretty brutal and unforgiving compared to what I remember growing up. Are the other ~150 million Americans really that worthless and irredeemable?

The "American left" wants higher wages, universal healthcare, a sustainable energy infrastructure, and a strong middle class. Elon Musk has turned himself into the antithesis of all of that, and he's always been part of the 0.1%. Absolutely nothing in common with the 150 million Americans you're referring to.

IIRC his ex-wife married a trans person and one (or multiple?) of his kids is trans. His fragile concept of masculinity seemingly couldn't endure that, so he became vehemently transphobic.

Grimes, after they split, became friends with Chelsea Manning (who, yes, is trans)

They didn't even date, although tabloid rumors stirred, let alone got married

And he has 1 trans kid

Anything more than that is not true from when I looked into this prior

Ah I see. People in California have no taste.
It did take other manufacturers too long to commit to EVs, but there really is no excuse at this point. Great options out there at half the price of Tesla, and you don't have to worry about their CEOs donating profits straight back to oil corporations/oil-friendly politicians.

I would be interested to hear about these great options at half the price of Tesla - got a source?

The model 3 is less than 40k after tax credit

Caveat is you must show vehicles available in the US - since we now have 100% tariffs on Chinese EVs

I was referring more to the $80,000 and $100,000 Teslas, like the Cyberdumpster, but I'd still rather go with an Ioniq 5 or 6 over any of the models. Much nicer body and interior.

Then again, I'm partial to Honda Civics myself, so the new Civic Hybrid also looks great on that side of things.

Very confusing considering we had been talking about the model y being the best selling car in California, then TheGlitch saying people in California having no taste

Then you saying there are options at half the price etc

Seems to had been talking about similar offerings (sedans, not trucks)

In either case, there actually aren't great electric truck options at more affordable price points

Fully optioned electric trucks are all around $100,000

The lowest trim Cybertruck is ~60k which is about ~10k more than the lowest trim Ford lightning
