Remap buttons for Virtual Console games? (via Ocarina/Gecko)

I have most of the VC library on my emunand, playing via USB Loader GX.

I want to change some controls — the biggest thing is I want NES games to use Y/B on the Classic Controller instead of B/A.

Any idea if Ocarina codes could do this? I could make codes for every game in the library if this method is possible. My concern is Y isn’t a real button on the NES so there may be no way for a NES Virtual Console game to recognize it.
(My other problem is I don’t know how to make an Ocarina code to remap buttons; it can’t be too hard, can it?)

I’m open to other remapping methods besides Ocarina codes. I just can’t think of any.

Probably HEX editing the WAD file.
I don't think a cheatcode can do that but might be wrong.

For that, the WAD must know what controller you're using and it's mappings, which to be honest, Nintendo wouldn't have cared for.

Edit: Use emulators instead? FCEUGX? RetroArch?
