    I would never consider a gateway given that they purposely included bricking code. Gateway users also said multirom was impossible and required an FPGA update, yet here we are... Now they're moaning in yet another rare R4 thread about something else that's impossible, surprise surprise... How...

    You're delusional, GBAtemp has been deep throating Gateway up until they released the brick code. They have been VERY anti-clone from the beginning. You need to re-read all the stickies or get your head checked... Are you surprised there's a backlash now? FFS Gateway is purposely bricking 3DSs.

    Fair enough, obviously I can't speak for everyone/everywhere but I know of one confirmed case.

    But it's unlikely. Nintendo repair centers have replaced 3DSs that were bricked (albeit with a new firmware). The bricking code is very specific and if Nintendo was really behind it they would have advised their repair centers not to honor the warranty for this unique brick code.

    As a clone user I would wait about 3-6 months or until a reputable 3DS dev can confirm there's no brick code (if that's at all possible).
