  • Sometimes I get the feeling, that the wrong people are said to be crazy. Crazy in the sense: Missing common sense, doing things not comprehensible.
What is considered to be normal (norm, majority), is not necessarily good -- when trying to evaluate with (hopefully) objective criteria.

And as the darkness of evening gradually emerges between breaths, the wind of the soul begins to pass over the sea. I, like someone who cannot return from a long journey, stand there motionless, on the edge of a world where the sea welcomes the sky within. Until the sun slips down. Where sea and sky join together, there is a place waiting for me, but who knows when I will be allowed to reach it and finally lie down.

The sea is connected to reporduction, the nymphs etc. and the sun is the celestial Apollo.
Joshu asked Nansen:"What is the true Way?"Nansen: "The Everyday Way." Joshu:"Can I study IT?" Nansen: "The more you study, the further you get." Joshu: "But if I don't have to study, how can I know IT?"Nansen: "The true Way cannot be seen or known. Do not seek, study, or name IT; to find yourself on IT, open yourself, immense as the sky..."

Nansen told Joshu that the true Way isn't something to be known or studied. But I induce that Nansen is guiding Joshu towards the true Way, and that Nansen's master also did.

A centipede lived peacefully and quietly. Until a toad one day jokingly said, "In what order do you put your feet one behind the other?"
The centipede began to rack his brains and make countless trials. The result was that from that moment he could no longer move...😩

I have read that the Architect in the Matrix movie is associated with Sigmund Freud. Therefore I have checked on Freud, if there is anything about Vulcan, and there is something related. I will leave this as a note here:

During the weeks when Bankei was giving his meditation class, students came from all over Japan to attend. During one of these seminars, a student was caught stealing. The incident was reported to Bankei with a request that the culprit be cast out. Bankei ignored the fact. Later the pupil was caught in the act again, and this time too Bankei did not care about the matter.

A man begged Takuan to suggest how he could spend his time. The days seemed very long to him as he performed his duties and sat and strutted around receiving people's homage.Takuan drew eight chinese ideograms and gave them to the man:
"Do not repeat twice this day.
    Splinter of time: great gem.
Never again will this day return.
Every moment is worth a priceless gem."

We learn about the sayings and deeds of the men of old in order to entrust ourselves to their wisdom and prevent selfishness. When we throw off our own bias, follow the sayings of the ancients, and confer with other people, matters should go well and without mishap. Lord Katsushige borrowed from the wisdom of Lord Naoshige.

This is mentioned in the Ohanashikikigaki. We should be grateful for his concern. Moreover, there was a certain man who engaged a number of his younger brothers as retainers, and whenever he visited Edo or the Kamigata area, he would have them accompany him. As he consulted with them everyday on both private and public matters, it is said that he was without mishap.

We have to crack the ancient code.
A man walking through a field came across a tiger. He started running, tailed by the tiger. When he reached a precipice, he grabbed onto the root of a wild vine and let himself dangle over the brink. The tiger sniffed him from above. Trembling, the man looked down, where, at the bottom of the abyss, another tiger was waiting to devour him.

By the way: Pretty hopeless setting. Depression fuel. One could also interpret it as: "No matter what you do and try in life, you're f...ed anyway. Enjoy your last meal and die."

@Creamu's very condensed comment isn't wrong. Our brain allowed us to survive despite inferior, non-adapted bodies.

Once Tanzan and Ekido were walking together on a muddy road. It was still raining hard. After a bend, they met a beautiful girl in a kimono who could not cross the road.
"Come, girl," Tanzan said at once. Then he picked her up and carried her over the puddles...
