Gaming Wii Active 2 : new USB hardware... IOS ?

The game includes the 4.2 update, so I think it needs something which your still-on-3.2-system doesn't offer. That the original disc isn't working (without update) would be a hint on that. I would suggest to update your Wii to at least 4.2. There are some homebrew firmware updaters (e.g...

Doesn't the homebrew channel updates itself as well? So it should be possible to do something like that. As I prefer using a forwarder, It's not important for me, but anyway there has to be a way to do it.

Hacking house of the dead 2 and 3 return issues

I had cIOS 222 installed and "Block IOS reload" activated and still got a black screen. So a re-installed Hermes cIOS (most current version which was released yesterday I think) using 37 merged 36 on 222 as proposed, and everything works perfectly (with Block IOS reload on). So thank you for...

    Hacking Configurable USB Loader

But isn't the "Block IOS reload" option in the games option screen meant for these issues? I'm playin "The House of the Dead 2&3 Returns", which is also one of the IOS reloading games, without problem using this "Block IOS reload" option. Needs to have cIOS 222 or 223 installed though (which is...

    I agree 100% with that.

    Hacking Configurable USB Loader

I just updated to the most current version. Don't worry, no complaints, everything ist just working fine as expected. However I love GUIs and hate console views. I already configured the loader to start coverflow3d automatically. Anyway, when starting the loader, there is still the console...

Hacking Hard drive standby mode solved?!

It is solved with current CIOS versions (since 13a I think?). It makes the Wii periodically write-accessing the drive (every few seconds) which avoids the drive going to sleep. Can't try out if it really works though, cause my drive doesn't have a sleep mode like that at all, but I can see and...

    Hacking Linux WBFS Manager

I still have the first version of the command line tool, which still has the delete bug. Wasn't a problem cause I just did not have to delete anything, anyway it would be nice to have a fixed version. Does anyone know where to get something like a "most current version" of the cli tool?

Hell yeah, transparent background. Looking forward for all new nice backgrounds to use this feature. Button hold-down feature is fantastic as well. Just noticed a small issue with the last version (haven't tried out your newest version yet, it just sounds cool ): When the USB drive is...

Yeah okay, I already thought that - not that big problem with the cover though. Enough easy "workarounds" to use until it may be fixed by the server.

    Hacking Configurable USB Loader

No, I've a 4:3 TV and the Wii is definitely in 4:3 mode (and the loader is not configured to use widescreen mode as well). noimage_wide.png is in covers/3d and in covers directory, but the loader doesn't use it at all (same with noimage.png as said above, already tried both). [Edit] Okay, found...

    Hacking Configurable USB Loader

Hell yeah, thanks oggzee for your great work. This is so good (as always)! 3D-Covers with "download all" feature, background music - fantastic. Some small issues: - Pressing the power button on the Wiimote while the loader searches for die USB drive (connection retry) leads to a code dump. -...

    Hacking Configurable USB Loader

Thats nice. Is it or will it be possible to put a game on the preferred games list from within the loader, e.g. using the already existing game-settings dialog? That would be even better, like everything else I don't have to manually edit some config files for.

    Hacking Configurable USB Loader

But would be absolutely cool. - Online-Update of the loader itself - FTP-Access to covers/codes/settings - Copy ISOs using WiFi with a shared directory on the PC (takes some time but is a nice idea anyway). -> No need to plug-out the USB-Drive and SD-Card anymore. Don't think this is done...

Anyway, I like the idea somehow as a configurable alternative. Don't know if I would use it cause I like alphabetical order somehow, but it would be a nice feature. Btw: Tried cfg9 today and like it very much. Nice background designs, nice features, less problems.

i think i heard of that, it's a good idea, shouldn't need a dedicated GPU just to run a LLM or video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the nvidia shield tv has AI video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
LLMs can be run on cpu anyway but it's quite slow
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
Have you ever been beaten by a wet spaghetti noodle by your girlfriend because she has a twin sister, and you got confused and fucked her dad?
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I had a girlfriend who had a twin sister and they would mess with me constantly.... Until one chipped a tooth then finally I could tell them apart.... Lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
They would have the same hair style the same clothes everything... Really messed with my head lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
@The Real Jdbye, I could see AMD trying to pull off the CPU GPU tandem thing, would be a way to maybe close the gap a bit with Nvidia. Plus it would kinda put Nvidia at a future disadvantage since Nvidia can't make X86/64 CPUs? Intel and AMD licensing issues... I wonder how much that has held back innovation.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i don't think nvidia wants to get in the x64 cpu market anyways
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
you've seen how much intel is struggling getting into the gpu market
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
and nvidia is already doing ARM
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i don't think they want to take more focus away from their gpus
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah I think Nvidia s future lays in AI GPU acceleration stuff if they can get that going it's going to be super interesting in the long term
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
AI assisted game creation might become a thing
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
At least that's something I think would be pretty cool.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Don some VR glasses and gloves and talk to the computer and paint entire worlds
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
"OK Cortana I want that mountain a little taller and more snow on top, and I would like some random ancient pine forest around the bottom"
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
"Now we need a spring fed river flowing down the north side and add some wild life appropriate for the biome"
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Many TBs of assets and the programming of something like that is going to be tough but I think it's something we might see in 20 years maybe sooner
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@Psionic Roshambo AI assisted game creation is kinda already here, there was recently that AI that can turn any 2D image into a fully modeled 3D object, it's not perfect, but it's a starting point, beats starting from zero
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
before that there was one to generate a fully modeled scene from a 2D image
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but most recently, there was one that actually generates a working unity scene with terrain and textures already set up that you can import right into unity, that's a huge time saver right there
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
and using LLMs to generate NPC dialogue and even dynamically generated quests is something i'm sure is already happening
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
will just take some time for games made using those things to be completed and released
