  • Speaking of American spellings, isn't it wierd that "Advertise" is the only "ise" that is spelled with an s in both American and British, as opposed to "realise/realize", "equalise/equalize", "patronise/patronize", and so on . . .

    Some guidelines

Noun and verb: Where the noun and verb are the same (like “exercise”), use -ise.

Pronunciation: Anything that doesn't sound like “-eyes” uses -ise, such as “promise”.

Stem: Where the stem word (usually Latin or Greek) ends in “is”, then use -ise, as in vis (to see) gives “televise”.

    Anything else: Use -ize.
For most of my life (English not being my first language), I thought there was no difference between the words "enchantment", and "enhancement", I only learned that very recently.
Most religions that I know of emphasize the unworthiness of fear. Only christianity considers fear to be a good thing. And still Jesus told you not to be afraid, but still, you must be afraid.

I don't think so. Only Old Testament (above all Judaism) exalts absolute obedience and submission, the "fear and trembling" before God. The Gospel instead emphasizes conscious love for God and your neighbor (even the enemy), self-giving, joyful and voluntary altruism, a blessing for love, not fear. Jesus amended the O.T.
Once we know about every star and planet in the universe that we can see, maybe then we can start to make sense of God.

Unfortunately, many artists, instead of following their inner intuition and spontaneity, bend to the taste of public. Why? For celebrity and wealth. Well, it's not from today; many nineteenth-century novelists were subservient to their audience. But today, everyone is only aiming for profit. 😒

We need to teach those losers!
Both myself and so many other people keep acting like they are still in school for years and years after leaving school, they keep wanting authority figures to approve everything they do. But I'm telling you, it will never happen.

The education system really nurtures it above everything.

It's not just the system's fault. It is also an emotional tendency inherent in man; feeling like a defenseless child always looking for protection, consolation and praise. Among the causes: fear of future, of losing possessions and certainties, of loneliness.
It's arguable that all music and all art is just valueless garbage.
