Discussion for the possibility of the creation of this homebrew. Moonshell can play DPG files, but only on one screen, would it be possible to create something like that, but have video play on both screens?

Some of the games I played featured an intro video using both screens.... it would be cool, if we could convert a video (avi, mpeg watever...) into a dpg file played by both screens, having the option of removing the screen space between the screens... like the option in comicbookds

Why would you want to watch the same movie on both screens?

Also AFAIK the decoding of the DPGs saps an awful lot of processing power (it's why there's a lag on the touch screen controls) so I'm not even sure that it would be possible.

Yeah but it's one porno on two screens. I could see the point if it didn't go 2 * Screens, 2* Pornos, 2 * Hands and 1 * WeeWee-mote.

Right, that's a proprietary codec that homebrew coders do not have access to. Furthermore, I believe it runs at only 15 fps when run across both screens at once.

Something like this could be possible, though someone would need to code it. I've heard that Moonshell's source is a mess, and 1.71 requires a special compiler that costs several thousand dollars, so you'd have to base it off of 1.6 or earlier, or start entirely from scratch.

This homebrew would be pointless.

I'd rather just watch it on one screen.

My Slot-2 M3 already does this, but not the way I want it to. (Their custom-moonshell has two dual-screen modes, one with both screens showing an identical picture, and another one with the upper screens picture flipped). I'd love to have a widescreen video spread across the two screens, with the gap between the screens cut out. I've got no practical reason to do this, other than the almighty v-penis.

'tis funny, how today I've seemed to see a lot of posts about stuff that slot-1 cards supposedly can't do, that my old M3 does(SDHC-support etc.)
